The tenets of Tillmauism have been so dragged down in the dirt by its exponent, that it deserves the coo- damnation of all good citizens, and will most smbredly receive oars as hmg as there is a breath left with whiah to utter it. To object to any thing ealealated to promote the agiieoltoral interests of Darlington Ooanty, would be so absurd an act npoa ita f*ce that one found guilty «C it would merit and shook! re- waive the united antagonism of all the good dtisraa of the County. Agriculture is the leading industry of the Sooth; the tillers of the soil are the M back bone and sinew” of the oouatry, and form the very basis of its prosperity. From the reports of the affair as published in the Newt and Conner, the Charlee'on H'orW and the Co lombia Register, and from the ac- couQts of it as related by two or three distinguished citizens ot the upper part of the count) who were in attendance, each a meeting has not ^been held within the borders of the State since 1876. That Dar lington County should have been made the arena tor such a display, affords us cause for genuine regret; and tbe good people of the County feel keenly the disgrace which, through no fanlt of theirs, hss been plsced upon them.
