1876 to be listed without penalty.
Section 1. Be it erected by the Seriate
and House of Represent Uives ot the State
of South Carolina, now met and sitting iu
General Assembly, and by the authority of
the eame. That in ail eases where unim
proved laud which has been upon the tnx
books since the tiecal year conuneuciog
November 1, 1887, aud which me not ou
the isrfeited H»«, shall at any time before
the Isi day of Oetober, 1888, be returned
to the County Auditor for taxation, the
eaid Auditor be. and is hereby instructed,
to assess the eatuo and tu enter it upon the
duplicate ol the fiscal year commencing
November 1, 1887, with the simple taxes
of that year.
Seetion 2. That all such lands as may bs
returned to the Auditor fur taxation be
tween thq first day of O&tober, 1888, end
the first day of October, 1889, shall be as-
aesoed and charged with the simple taxes
of the two fiscal years commencing, re
speotively, on the first day of November,
1887, and the fiiet day of November, 1888.
Sections. That as soon as practicable
a'ler the passage of this Act, the Comptrol
ler Geueral is directed to furnish a copy,
of the same to each Auditor in the State,
and the Auditors ute required tiW publish
the eame in each of their County papers,
once a week for three n uiiths during the
year 1888, and for the s.rme noriod;ot time
during the year 1889 ; ant) the cost of such
publication shall be paid by the County
Treasurer, upon the order of the County
Commissioners, ont of the ordinary county
tnx last collrcted.
