The New Depot.?No humbug
this time; there is to be a depot, and
the company proposes an entire change
of flan. The trick will run between
the freight and possenger depots, giv
ing safety and comfort. The depot
will be about 85 foot long and 25 feet
wide. There will be a reception room,
an agent's office, aud telegraph office.
Wc suggest a pluco for a restaurant,
some enterprising vender of cakes and
fruit will do well there. Look out
this lime for the hew depot. That loop
hole and railroad spike will be a thing
of tho past.
The Hoc; Law.?Wc congratulate
our fellow citizens; we make an obedi
ent salaam to our Mayor aud Council,
and we offer to the hog? a cheerful
lasting and sincere farewell. The hog
law is passed and will be enforced on
and after September 15th, and our
senses will he no more shocked with
the abominable nuisance of hogs riot
ing and marauding over the town.
Thi? has licet) an old light. The press
has hit hard blows, but the hogs wctc
not scared. Tho I oard of Health made
a presentment to the former council
that met a cold reception. Brickbat1),
horsewhip's, clubs aud pistols were
used but the hogs were au fait. Now
conies an ordinance; Law is supreme
when it has no Moses to turn the hogs
I out of pen, and the pork raisers must
hmk to the fine. There will many a
jolly run lor the marshal to catch the
j first violating grunter on the streets,
j iCnd a good "catch dog" (Spot) would
be a valuable adjunct to the enforce
ment of the law. That one eared sow
with no tail, that feeds on old shoe
solcsnnd shavings stand the best chance
of freedom, she can go through a pa
ling fenco, and if the dog is on the
earless side he cannot hold her.

have a correct List of the different classes of

Number of acres of Meadow and Pasture.
Number of acres of Wood Land.
And number of Ihiildings.
Each tract of land must be returned sepa
rate in the Township where it lies, and at
the same time they will mnkcthcir return of
Personal Property, Moneys and Credits.
