Base Ball.
On Friday the base ball match came
offos announced. The Athletics were on
hand punctually, and presented quite a
formidable appearance in their fancy
uniform. The game was called punctu
ally at half past three, with the Athletics
at the hat The Athletics went out with
out scoring a round aud the "Oranges"
camo in and scoured fourteen. The
Blackvillo club tried to rally after this
but luck seemed to be against them, the
Ornngeburg club heating the game by a
score of 58 to 16. A large crowd of peo
ple witnessed the game and a good deal
of interest was manifested in it by out
sidcrs. Perhaps it was owing to being on
a strange ground that caused the Ath
letics to be beaten so badly; but they
showed the right spirit all the way
through. The next game will take place

The true bill against Gov. Moses for
grand larceny created quite a sensation
in Court. Tho Solicitor (Mr. Butz) in
tends pushing it through, and if the
Governor can he indicted in a Circuit
Court, ho will receive a fair and impar
tial trial; tho Court officials intend to do
their duty, and we are certain that Judge
Graham is uot a man to swerve from his
duty. The case of Russell Wilson alias
Russell Kcitt, indicted for murder was
put off until Thursday, Solicitor Butz
and Malcolm Browning Esqrs., for the
prosecution, and Messrs. Knowlton, Izlar
aud Glover for the defense.
The following cases were tried :?State

Tho Court House was crowded when
tho Counsel for tho Governor spoke. Mr.

A telegram from the Governor announces
his willingness to attend a trial, but wish

ifested to hear Elliott speak, particularly
by the colored population, as some of]
them think that ho will be the next
Governor.
