PATRONS OF HUSBANDRY.
The regular monthly meeting ofOr
angeburg Grange takes place to-day, in
the basement of the Prysbcteriau Church.
The Order of. tho "Patrons of Husband

of each month. The members of that

in mind.
ECLIPSE OF THE MOON.
We learn that an eclipse of tho Moon

la being demolished to give place to a
better investment. We learn that a por
tion of the lot occupied by this insightly
structure is engaged to be built upon.
We hope in a short time to see Market
street lined with graceful houses.
HORB j*aw and IESsVaRTY FAVOR.
It was generally remarked, that the
Solicitor (Mr. Butfc) who appeared , at
our Court for the first time last week,
performed his duty impartially. If so;
j we may hope for better things.- There
are many somethings rotten out of Den
mark, and the talons of tho law will fes
ten many a villain, who has been spared
because he was a "party man" heretofore.
Don't disappoint the public, Mr. Solici
tor, but make your work, quick, sharp
and decisive.
THE AGRICUTURAL AND MECHANICAL
ASSOCIATION.
The regular quarterly meeting of the
County Agricultural Society was held a.t
tho Hall of the Young America Fire
Engine Company, on Saturday Jost. The
very important business before them, vis:
organising and putting into operation the
Joiut Stock Company, made it necessary
that the usual discussions should be omit
I ted, and the. time devoted to the above
object. It was determined, however,
that a picnic should be held at the Au
gust meeting, to which members arc en
titled to-bring their families, and such
friends as they may desiro to invite.?
Each member likewise, will have the
privilege of bringing with him n basket
(or as many as he may desiro) containing
comforts .'or the inner man ; (tho destroy
ing the contents of these baskets forms
an important feature on such joyful occa
sions?, and adds materially to the success
of the same.)
Tho Society soon adjourned, and imme
diately a meeting of the Stockholders
was heltl, at which Dr. Thos. A. Elliott
acted as Chairman. The temporary
