Free died Sunday John Allen Free, 64, of 1421 Griffith Park, died early Sun day morning at his residence after several months of declin ing health. Mr. Free was born in Perry, S. C., the son of the late E. D. and Caroline Dowling Free. Be fore his retirement he was ma nager of the Liberty Life In surance Office in Newberry and prior to coming to Newberry he was manager of the Liberty Life Insurance Office in Green wood. He was a member of Central Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sophie Vogle Free; one daughter, Mrs. W. E. Crosby of Greenwood; three brothers, E. D. Free of Columbia, Dun can Free of Elizabeth City, N. C., and Carl Free of Sumter; three sisters, Mrs. Sidney Cart er of Cheraw, Mrs. H. A. Moore of Columbia and Mrs. Melvin Rheams of Bishopville; and five grandchildren. Graveside services were con ducted at 3 p.m. Monday at. Edgewood Cemetery in Green wood by Rev. Jon Linder and Dr. Neil Truesdell. C. H. O’Donald died in Augusta Charles H. O’Donald, 59, of Hartwell, Ga., died in Augusta Tuesday. Born in Franklin County, Ga., he was a son of the late John F. O’Donald and Mrs. Josephine Brown O’Donald. He was a tex tile worker, farmer and a mem ber of the Church of God. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Carlon O’Donald; four daughters, Mrs. James E. Kir by of Newberry, Mrs. Joseph Brown of Greenville, Mrs. Ber tha Harding and Miss Sharon O’Donald of the home; three sons, Steven M. O’Donald of Reidsville, Ga., Jerry Lee O’ Donald of Wichta,i Kan., and Robert Wayne O’Donald of the home; five sisters, three bro thers and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Friday at Hartwell Church of God, with burial in Double Branch Cemetery in Franklin County, Ga. L. C. Derrick passes in N. C. L. Caldwell Derrick, age 67, 4200 Statesville Rd., Charlotte, N.C., died at the Memorial Hos pital there on Saturday after a long illness. He was the son of John S. and Lula Derrick. He is sur vived by his wife, Ruth Suggs Derrick of Charlotte, one bro ther, C. Eugene Derrick of New berry and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Cannon of Clinton, Mrs. Vera Setzler of Decatur, Ga., and Miss Helen Derrick of At lanta. Ga. Funeral services were held in Charlotte at 2 p.m. Monday. E. T. Bryant, Sr. died Saturday Everette T. “Curley” Bryant Sr., 57, of Clinton, died Sa turday. A native of Greenwood Coun ty, son of the late Henry Tyler and Ola Haphner Bryant, he lived in Clinton since 1935 and was a real estate salesman for Marion E. Wooten Construction Co. of Greer. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Snelgrove Bryant; a son, Everette Tyler Bryant Jr. of Newberry; a step-son, George Tolan Snelgrove of Clinton; six grandchildren; and two great- grandchldren. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Gray Fu neral Home, with burial in Rose- mont Cemetery. Mrs. Rinehart rites at Saluda Mrs. Beulah Hayes Rinehart died Sunday at her home in Pinewood, following a long ill ness. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sumpter Hayes, she was born at White Stone. A graduate of Greenville Female College, now Furman Univer sity, she taught school for many years in Saluda and Sumter Counties. She was the widow of Dr. Kenney Oscar Rinehart and a sister-in-law of Dr. Virgil W. Rinehart of Newberry. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pinewood Methodist Church with burial at 4 p.m. at Nazareth Metho dist Church in Saluda County.
