The groundbreaking ceremony for the new musk build
ing at Newberry College was held Friday, January 29, at
the site of the new $600,000 unit north of Dr. and Mrs.
A, G. D. Wiles’ home on Luther Street. Dr. Wiles was one
of nine who dug a symbolic shovelful of earth at the pro
gram. Watching in the background are an unidentified
girt. Dr. Conrad B. Park, academic dean. Dr. Karl Kinard,
president of the South Carolina Synod of the Lutheran
Church in America, and Hart Kohn. Jr., president of the
College’s Board of Trustees.
