Wicker, City Mrs. Eunice Wilson, City Mrs. Lillie Woodward, City Mrs. Lossie Mae Young, City Indians named All-Conference Four Newberry College In dians were named to the 1970 All-Carolinas Conference Foot ball Team; the selections were announced at the Conference’s Sports Banquet at Presbyterian College Friday. Indians gaining a spot on the offensive team were Don Gar rick, Orangeburg junior, back, and Frank Saccomen, Hubbard, Ohio, sophomore tackle. Gar rick broke school records when he rushed for 1,119 yards during the 11-game season. Team members landing a berth on the defensive squad were Howard Merrick, Beaufort junior end, and Saylor Fox, Buena Vista, Va., junior back. Fox was also named to the Na tional Association of Intercolle giate Athletics District 6 defen sive team. The Carolinas Conference Champions, Presbyterian Col lege, earned five places on the All-Conference team. Guilford and Lenoir Rhyne Colleges al so placed four men on the de fensive and offensive teams, Elon College, three, and Ca tawba College, two.
