C., Thursday, August 27, 1970—PAGE 7 Miss Bonnie Jane Freeman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Calhoun Freeman of 3225 White hall Road, Columbia, and Mr. Robert Glenn Lister, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Glenn Lis ter of 1519 Mower Street, were united in holy matrimony on Sa turday, August 22 at 7 p. m. The vows in the double ring ceremony were heard at the First Baptist Church of Colum bia with the Rev. John Mitchell Freeman, brother of the bride, and the Rev. George Bennett Shealy, officiating. Flower arrangements of white carnations, gladioli, mums and daisies were used in the church. The setting was completed with glowing white tapers in smi- lax—entwined candelabra. Mrs. Lowell Mayes provided a program of nuptial music at the organ. Ushers were Hugh C. Lister, brother of the groom, who also served as acolyte; Dewey L. Clemmons of Williamsburg, Va., uncle of the groom; William H. Abrams of Spartanburg, broth er-in-law of the groom; and Pope L. Lawson, Jr. of Colum bia. His father was the groom’s best man. Miss Florence June Freeman served as her sister’s maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Miss Nan Elizabeth Stivender of Greenville, Miss Margaret Elizabeth Ballard of Columbia, Miss Kathy Diane Kaiser of Leesville and Mrs. John M. Freeman, sister-in-law of the bride, of New Haven, Conn. They wore aqua blue formal gowns of linen, featuring empire bodice and bell sleeves. Their bouquets were of summer mix ed flowers in colonial style with blue and white satin streamers. The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of silk organza, s»ylra witn empire waistline and scalloped neckline. The A—line skirt fell in folds to form a sweeping chapel train, accented by a French bow with streamers. The bodice, skirt and train were lace appliqued. The fingertip veil of bridal illusion was attached to a headpiece of silk organza. She carried a bou quet of white Phalaenopsis or chids and pink sweetheart roses, with white miniature carnations scatter throughout, trimmed with natural foliage and pink and white satin streamers. The bride’s mother was at tired in a formal gown of blue crepe, accented with sequins and empire waistline. Matching accessories and a corsage of white cattleya orchids complet ed her attire. The groom’s mother chose a formal gown of pink chiffon, ac cented with white lace bodice and matching accessories. Her corsage was of vandar orchids. For a trip to the coast, the bride wore an aqua blue linen dress which featured an empire waistline and with which she used matching accessories. The couple will reside at 2 Prin cess Court, Petersburg, Virgi nia. Mrs. Lister is a senior at Win- throp College in Rock Hill, where she is working toward a B. S. Degree in Elementary Ed ucation. Mr. Lister was graduated from The Citadel with a B. S. Degree in Education. He is a Lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia. RECEPTION The reception followed imme diately in the Church Social Hall. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. R. Larry Kight of Columbia. The Bride’s table served as focal point, featuring a three-tiered wedding cake, en circled by an illusion ruffle. A miniature bouquet of mixed summer flowers adorned the top tier. The refreshment table was adorned with arrangements of Colonial styled summer mixed flowers. REHEARSAL PARTY After the rehearsal on Fri day evening, Mr. and Mrs. Ro bert G. Lister, parents of the groom, entertained with a re hearsal party, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Applegate of Columbia. The home and patio were gaily de corated with summer flowers and outdoor lanterns. Buffet re- refreshments, consisting of as sorted sandwiches, toasted nuts ,cake squares were served with delicious punch. The bridal cou ple presented gifts to members of the wedding party during the evening. Allen S. Hawkins and Eliza beth J. Fulmer of Newberry were married here July 25. David R. Hobbs of Augusta and Linda Cannon Farmer of Newberry were married in New berry July 16. RE-ELECT Cecil E.
