Commencement speakers, degree recipients named Palmetto Band concert be given Sunday Whitmire High School will be host to the Palmetto Conference Band March 20. 21 and 22nd. Outstanding members of eight bands will be participating in the Conference Band under the direction of Mr. Dale Grable. Mr Grable is bandmaster at Albany Junior College in Al bany. Ga He is formerly of Sumter This is the third ye ,r for the Conference Band, and the first time it has met in Whitmire. Approximately 130 outstanding band students representing eight high school bands will assem ble at Whitmire High for a week end of intensive practice, with a public concert to be present ed on Sunday afternoon, Mar. 22 at 3 at the high school Select students from bands at Whitmire. The three-day program in cludes business sessions, presen tation of essays and papers, a tour of Newberry College and an address by Dr. Hoy K.
