Mayes of Newberry announce the engagement of their daughter, Dinah Lynne, to Mr. Rog er Lane Hazel, son of Mr. and Mrs. David C. Hazel of Saluda. Miss Mayes graduated from Newberry High School and will be a May graduate of Newberry College, with a degree in English. Mr. Hazel is a graduate of Sa luda High School and will, also, graduate from Newberry College in May with a degree in sociology. The wedding is planned for March 28 in Aveleigh Presbyterian Church in Newberry. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haeford Duncan request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter MARGERY ANN to MR. MICHAEL BRYANT WINGO on Saturday, the fourteenth of March Nineteen hundred and seventy at five o’clock Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Newberry, South Carolina Reception follows Church Social Hall William Preston (Billy) Kunkle, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Preston Kunkle of Newberry, celebrated his third birth anniversary on March 2nd. Billy has two sisters, Karol, age 9 and Kathy, age 6. JAYCEE-ETTES HOLD FEBRUARY MEETING The Newberry Jaycee-ettes held their February meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Car- roll Wessinger. An interesting program was presented by Mr. Ramon Rodri guez on the Miss Newberry Pag eant. He showed slides of the 68-69 beauty pageants and ex pressed much hope that the 1970 pageant will be just as great. The pageant is scheduled for April and any girl interested is asked to contact Mr. Rodriguez. The Little Miss Newberry pag eant was discussed and Lois Bouknight was elected co-chair man for the pageant. Anyone wishing information concerning the Little Miss Pageant should contact her. The pageant is al ways held with the Miss New berry Pageant. Betty Willingham reported on the March of Dimes. She thank ed everyone for the help that they displayed in working in the various areas for the March of Dimes. Mrs. Ann Wessinger reported on the Christmas Bows sale for the Mental Health Mental Re tardation project for Pineland. All bows were sold and the mon ey sent to Pineland to help them with their various needs. Other Jaycee-ette business was discussed and voted by a majority of the total club mem bers. Earlene Carter presided at the meeting in the absence of President Linda Turner, who has recently given birth to a son. Betty Jean Dominick and Peg gie West attended a dinner for the S. C. Jaycee-ette President, Jane Davisson, on February 16. Jane gave an interesting talk on “Involvement”. The dinner was given by the Swansea Jay cee-ettes and Rita Adkins, pres ident of the Swansea Jaycee- ettes, gave the welcoming ad dress. JUDY DIANE WILLINGHAM Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Willingham of Newberry, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Judy Diane, to Sgt. James (Jimmy) Verna Clamp, Junior, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Verna Clamp, Senior, of Newberry. Miss Willingham was grad uated from Newberry High School, attended the Baptist College at Charleston, and is now employed by Central Soya of Newberry, Inc. Sgt. Clamp is a graduate of New berry High School, attended Montreat-Anderson College, and is presently in the United States Air Force, serving in Viet Nam. The Wedding is planned for Sunday, April 12, 1970, at 4:00 P. M., in the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
