Luther died Thursday James (Jim) David Luther, 92, died early Thursday morn ing at his home in Prosperity after a lingering illness. Mr. Luther was born in Pros perity, the son of the late Ro bert and Lizzie Stone Luther. He had been a farmer and a real estate dealer. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Singley Luther; one son, James David Luther, Jr. of Prosperity; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Kislevitz of Ne wark, N. J.; and Mrs. Kate L. Bearden of Prosperity. Funeral services were con ducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home by Rev. H. S. Petre. Interment was in Prosperity Cemetery. George Duncan died Monday George A. Duncan, 54, died early Monday morning at the Whitmire Medical Center after a short illness. Mr. Duncan was bom and reared in Whitmire, son of the late David D. and Sally Young Duncan. A graduate of Clem- son College and a veteran of World War II, he was a mem ber of the Whitmire United Methodist Church. He was em ployed in the Whitmire Plant of J. P. Stevens and Co. Surviving are two brothers, James D. Duncan of Greer and Otis C. Duncan of Whitmire and an aunt, Miss Mattie Dun can who made her home with him. Funeral services were con ducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the Whitmire United Methodist Church by Rev. James H. Nates. Burial was in the Whitmire Ce metery. Olin C. Taylor Olin Cornwell Taylor, 75, of Charlotte, N. C., died lliursday at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. He was bom in Pros perity, son of the late George and Ella Myers Taylor. He had lived in Charlotte for 50 years. He was a member of East Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Augusta Agnor Taylor, one daughter, Mrs. James B. Wad dell of Charlotte, one son, Olin Boyd Taylor of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. J. O. Hipp of Charlotte and Mrs. R. M. Amker of Spartanburg; three grand children. Funeral was held Saturday in Charlotte. J. H.' ■* rites Monday Joseph H. Jenkins, 82, died Sunday afternoon at the Colum bia Hospital in Columbia, after a short illness. He had been in declining health for several years. Mr. Jenkins was bom and reared in Maryland and was the son of the late Robert and Martha Johnson Jenkins. He was a retired engineer for the Westernhouse Corp. and since his retirement had made his home in Columbia and Newber ry. He was married to Miss Irene Jones of Maryland, then to Mrs. Littlejohn of Gaffney, then to Miss Helen Wheeler of Columbia, all having preceded him in death. Mr. Jenkins was the last sur viving member of his immed- eate family. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock from St. Marks Catholic Church with Father Peter Berberick conducting the service. The body was sent to the Gawler Funeral Home in Washington, D. C. and burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Bladensburg Road, Bethesda, Md. Active pallbearers were Adam Dyskin, Howard Turner, Walter Kolodij, A. E. Moorehead, Dr. E. J. Dickert, Thomas H. Pope, David Long, H. B. Kirkegard, and Dr. E. M. Anderson. Jesse Holland Funeral services for Jesse D. Holland, 53, of Anderson, who died Wednesday, were held at 1 p. m. Friday in Anderson. Bur ial was in West End Cemetery, Newberry, with military rites. His widow is the former Clara Hughes of Newberry.
