Mrs. Browne, 86, rites Saturday Mrs. Annie Belle Wise Browne 86, of Prosperity, widow of J. Frank Browne, died Thursday in Columbia hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Browne was bom in Prosperity, the daughter of the late Allen G. and Rebecca Birge Wise. She taught school for many years in Newberry and was a member of Grace Lutheran church, where she was organist for 40 years. She is survived by one dau ghter, Mrs. C. E. Hipp, Toron to, Canada; two brothers. Col. George S. Wise and R. K. Wise, both of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. C. M. Harmon of Prosperity and Mrs. J. C. Tay lor of Charleston. Funeral services were held Saturday from her church by Dr. J.. A. Keisler and inter ment was in Prosperity ceme tery. Mrs. Ringer, 53, services held Mrs. Mozelle Nichols Ringer, 53, died Wednesday at the Bap tist hospital in Columbia after several months’ illness. Mrs. Ringer was bom and reared in this county, daughter of Mrs. Lillie Harmon Nichols Heller and the late Willie Ed win Nichols. She was a mem ber of Bethany Lutheran church and a member of the Business and Professional Womans club. Mrs. Ringer was owner and operator of Ringer’s Florists on Main street. Mrs. Ringer is survived by her husband, Homer L. Ringer Sr., Newberry; her mother; one son, Homer L. Ringer Jr, New berry; three daughters, Mrs. James Breazeale, Greenville, Dr. Helen Mason, New Orleans, La.; and Mrs. Roland Samuel- son, Atlanta, Ga.; three bro thers, Herman W. Nichols and George Nichols, both of New berry and Olin Nichols, Col umbia; one sister, Daisy Lee Stanton, Columbia. Funeral services were held Thursday from Bethany Luth eran church with Rev. John A. Sanders conducting the service. Burial was in Newberry Mem orial Gardens. Harmon dies; had kin here Carroll Resell Harmon, 53, >f Whitmire, died Saturday at he Veterans Hospital in Au- rusta, Ga. after a lingering llness. He was an employee of t. P. Stevens Co., Whitmire plant. Survivors in Newberry in- ;lude a brother, Oscar Harmon, and a sister, Mrs. Louise Par rott. Ralph P. Zobel dies suddenly Ralph Perry Zobel, 47. died suddenly Wednesday night at his home in Clear. Alaska. Mr. Zobe! was bom in New berry. the son of Mrs. Nancy G’Jidett* Zobe! of Newberry and the late Charles J. Zobel Jr., who died Jan. 16, 1968. He was manager of EMS Plant of RCA Corporation in Clear and was a member of Summer Mem orial Lutheran church. He held the rank of Major in the S. C. National Guard Reserve, and was a veteran of WWJLL Beaides his mother, he is survived by h;s wife, Mrs. Aud rey Sligh Zobel; two sons, Ralph Perry Zobel Jr., New berry and Thomas Charles Zo bel of Clear; three daughters, Mrs. Jeff SingLey Jr. of New berry, M:s* Sally Zobel and Mis.? Cindy Zobe!, both of Clear and two brothers, James Oscar f Butch > Zobel of Newberry and Charles J Zobel. Ill U. S. Navy of San Juan. Puerto Rico. One * ster. Mrs. Mathis services held Mrs. Ruth Gladys Beck Ma this, 57, of Route 4, died Wed nesday at the Newberry Coun ty Memorial hospital. A native of Barefoot, Ga.. she had made her home in Newberry for a number of years. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness church. Survivors include her hus band, Lies A. Mathis; two sons. Jack and Jimmy Mathis, both of Newberry; a daughter. Miss Valerie Mathis of Newberry; three stepsons, W. B. Mathis, and Junior Mathis, both of Newberry and Earl Thompson; two step-daughters, Mrs. J.
