Winners in the Newberry Beautification
and Conservation essay contest, sponsored
by the Newberry County Beautification
Committee, were presented checks at cer
emonies at Junior High School Wednesday
morning. Mrs. Richard L. Baker, chair
man, and Martyn Cavanaugh, co-chair
man made the presentations. From left
are Mrs. Baker, Tim Cox, Billie Davis,
Trent Purcell, Debra Leopard, Kathy Big
gin and Cavanaugh. Absent when the pic
ture was made was Alice Lathrop. Checks
for $5 were presented to Tim and Billie;
$3 to Kathy and Alice; $2 to Trent and
Debra.
