He was a machinist for New berry Mills for 32 years, a member of Bachman Chapel Lutheran church, where he was a former council member, a member of the LCM., and a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was aetree in the ’hurt!ft. and the JoEy Street Commimity Center. Surrpr.mr in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Carol Wicker of Prosperity and Mrs. Robert Corley, of Newberry; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Troutman and Mrs. OOie Amirk. both of Ballentine, and Mrs. Beatrice Wallace of New berry and Columbia; eight bro- *hers. Meetze dies suddenly Willie Earl Meetze, Sr., of Rt. 2, Prosperity, died sudden I > Sunday morning at the New berry County Memorial hospi tal. Bom in Lexington county, he was a son of the late Geo. and Minnie A mirk Meetze. He was an employee of the Brown Lumber Co. for 26 years, then in later years he operated May er's Landing war Prosperity. He was a member of Enoree Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Rawls Meetze; two sons, W. Earl Meetze Jr. and Thur man Meetze, both of Columbia; a brother, George M. Meetze of Newberry. Funeral services were held Monday from Capers Chapel Methodist church with the Rev. Albert Cox conducting the ser vice. Burial was in the church cemetery. L 0. Wicker rites Monday Ernest O Wicker, 73, died Saturday at the Newberry County Memorial hospital after a short illness. Mr Wicker was born and reared m this county and was the son of the late John P. and Lota Kxnard Wicker. He was a member of the Little River- Dominick Presbyterian church, a farmer deacon of the church and was a retired employee of Joanna Mills, and had made his home at Rt. 1, Kinards for a numner of years. Mr Wicker is survived by his wife. Mrs. Mary Viola Gra ham Wicker, Kinards; % sons, Robert Wicker, Kinards, Mar ion. Herman. Last rites for Charles Frick Charles Abner Frick, 82, of Little Mountain, died Sunday morning at hi« home, after a lingering ilinens. Mr. Prick was born in Lex ington county, a son of the late Elisha and Emma Haitiwanger Frick. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran church and as long as his health per mitted, he operated Frick Ser vice Station in Little Mountain. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Riddle Prick; one on. Albert 'Frick, Little Moun tain; two daughters, Mrs. Franklin Lake and Mrs. Caroll Arnold, both of Little Moun- tain; two brothers, Wilbur R. Fnck of Little Mountain and Bryan Frick of Chapin. Funeral services were held from his church Monday, con ducted by Rev. Gar.h Hill and Rev. Ralph Riddle. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Bowers, 78 service Sunday Mr* Lena Moore Bowers, 78, of Rt 2. Prosperity, died Sat urday at Mills Clinic. A life long resident of this county, she was a daughter of the late Joseph O. and Mandy Elizabeth Hawkins Moore. She was a member of Zion Methodist church- Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Essie Hawkins, Mrs. Net tie Dennis, both of Prosperity, and Mrs. Lucille Aycoek of Mc Connells four brothers. Pink, Wallace, Pat and Dudley Moore all of Prosperity. Funeral services were held Sunday from her church with Rev. Raymond Brock and Rev. Hilton Ruff conducting the ser vice.
