Dec. 26th, 1968 Golden bells tied with gold velvet ribbon against a background of gilded fronds decorate this home on Mower Street for the Christmas season. (Sunphoto by Martin Armfield.) Collie Hawkins services held Colie Lee Hawkins, retired grocer of Columbia, died Tues day in Columbia hospital. Mr. Hawkins was born in Prosperity. Surviving are three uncles, B. E. Boland of Prosperity, B. L. Boland of Greenville, and E. L. Boland of Dallas, Tex. Funeral services were held Thursday at Mt. Tabor ceme tery, by Rev. Garth L. Hill. Mrs. Taylor rites Sunday Mrs. Lillie Fellers Taylor, 84 of Greenwood, widow of Thos. Lee Taylor, died Thursday at an Anderson hospital. She was a native of Newberry county, daughter of the late John A. and Carrie Dominick Fellers. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 by Blythe Fun eral Home. Burial was in Old Methodist cemetery. Piano sudents have party Piano students of Mrs. Chas. Ragland held their annual Christmas Repertoire Class and Party at Mrs. Ragland’s home on Main street Friday. Meeting in groups, the students played familiar Christmas music, en joyed games, and received aw ards. Winning progrtss awards were Karen Lancaster and Ralph Baker Jr. Named Best- All-Around Students were Kathy Riggin and Debbie Thomasson. Chosen by vote of the students for Best Perform ances were Mary K. Mills, play ing “0 Holy Night” and Conii Sanders, playing arrangements of “What Child Is This” and “0 Come All Ye Faithful.” Appearing in the program were Lisa Parsons, Kathy Rig- gin, Karen Lancaster, Budgie Wardlaw, Karen Hammond, Gwen Bland, Trudy Bland, Catherine Baker, Mary K. Mills, Martha Renwick, Jane Ringer, Tracey Counts, Debby Duke, Margaret Warren, Alice Pay- singer, Conii Sanders, Ralph Baker, Erwin Baker, Debbie Thomasson, Johnna Eargle, Donna Wicker, Martha Sum mer, and Patricia Sparks. Jan. 4: Howard Clark, Mrs John Pappas, Mrs. Wilbur J Ringer, Debra Smith, Steven Fuller. ‘Biir Suber died Friday William “Bill” Suber, 56 of Rt. 1, Newberry, died Fri day morning at the veteran’s hospital in Columbia. He was a native of Green ville, a son of the late Willie Mack and Arilla Riddle Suber. He was a retired weaver for the J. P. Stevens Mill, Whit mire, and a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist church. He was a veteran of World War II. H is first wife was the late Mrs. Mildred Polly Stone Su ber. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Avis Gilliam Suber; 3 sons, Henry C. Suber of Ft. Jackson, Kenneth E. Suber of the home and William W. Suber of Pen- el ville, N., Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Roache, of Green ville. Funeral services were held Sunday at McSwain Funeral Home by Rev. G. M.
