Social Security information “Better service to the public” is our aim, Mr. Spiller of the Greenwood Social Security of fice stated recently. Mr. Spiller explained that he makes weekly visits to the Court House in Newberry to serve those who are unable to visit the Green wood office. Crowds at the Court House are sometimes large, necessitating a long wait. The Social Security Adminis tration regrets this and sug gests one of these alternatives: (1) If possible, visit the office at 219 Magnolia Avenue, Greenwood. The staff of inter viewers there is able to serve you with little or no waiting. (2) Phone Greenwood at 223-1711 (the cost is 35c from Newberry). Many questions can be answered over the phone. Also, certain reports can be made by phone. Following are some of the events that can be reported by phone: Death of a Social Security Beneficiary; Failure to receive a check that is due; change of address, re turn to work after retirement; student drops out of school; or marriage of a Social Security Beneficiary. If the call cannot be com pleted in three minutes, the staff member in Greenwood will suggest that the caller hang up. The staff member will immediately return the call at the expense of' the Social Sec urity Administration. A skeleton crew is on duty at Greenwood on Saturday morn ings from 9 a.m. until 12 noon to serve those who work and are unable to visit the Social Security office except on Sat urday. r A ll D IIATCC f° r ^ hristmas Scals from TV ’ S four rUUK VwlE3 famous songstresses, the Lennon Sis ters.
