C. has been recognized for helping his former unit, the 3rd Air Division, earn the U. S. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Henderson’s father, David Coleman, resides on Boundary St. NORFOLK, VA. — Airman Apprentice Alan J. Paysinger, USN, 20, son of Mr. Strother D. Paysinger of 1623 Clarkson Avenue participated in the re covery of the Apollo 7 while serving aboard the anti-subma- r : ne warfare aircraft carrier, USS Essex, a unit of Task Force One Forty. With the completion of the Anollo 7 mission, Essex, assign ed to th° Naval Air Force, At lantic Fleet, and homeported at Quonset Point, R. I., returned to normal fleet operation. U. S. AIRFORCES, Thailand —U. S. Airforce Lt. Colonel Rufus M. Monts III, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Monts Jr., of Prosperity, recently completed his 100th and final combat mis sion over North Vietnam. During his combat tour, Col. Monts served as an F-105 Thunderchief pilot with the 469th Tactical Fighter Squad ron based at Korat Royal Thai AFB, Thailand. The 21-year service veteran struck enemy positions through out N. Vietnam prior to the March 31 bombing pause. Since then he has struck enemy lines of communications and military storage areas in the southern panhandle of the North. Col. Mon's earned 10 Air medals dur his tour of duty on South i st Asia.
