LETTER TO EDITOR Dear Editor: In a presidential election such as this, we are apt to ne- p-lect the campaigns tor the State Legislature and other of fices. It is our duty as citizens to cast an intelligent vote for each Office after a careful con sideration of the qualifications of each candidate. The Republican Party of South Carolina has made it pos sible' for you to have a choice of candidates for the Legisla ture' in many counties. This is the f une*t ion of the two-party systeun. The' compedition of tin two-party system will benefb euich citizen and the 1 whole State We' hedieve* the Republicar candidate's are well epialified. It is simply common semse to sup port the twee-party system by ede'eting more Republicans to ?he> Legislature. Last year there we're 8 Senators and 17 representatives who tire Repub licans. This year theme tire' 85 Republican candidates for the 170 seats in the House and Sen ate. A “stuffing" party was hol< at the Newberry Agricultural building last Thursday under the chairmanship of Mrs. W. C. Koon to get Christmas Seal letters ready to be posted. Officials of the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Area (I express their gratitude to the groups throughout the area for their cooperation and support as the association launches its annual fund-raising campaign for mailing approximately 38,- 5(10 appeal letters.
