NOTICE OP ELECTION
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
COUNTY OP NEWBERRY.
Notice is hereby given that
the General Election for State
tod County will be held at the
voting precincts fixed by law
in the Couatv aforesaid on Tues
day, November 5, 1966, said day
being Tuesday following the first
Monday, as prescribed by the
State Constitution.
Before the hour fixed for
opening the polls Managers and
Clerks must take and subscribe
to the constitutional oath. The
Mangers elect their Chairman
tod Clerk.
The polls shall be opened at
such voting places as shall be
designated at 8 o’clock in the
forenoon, and close at 7 o’clock
in the afternoon of the day of
•lection, and shall be held open
during these hours without in
termission or adjournment; and
the Managers shall see that
each person offering to vote
takes the oath that he is
qualified to vote at this election,
according to the Constitution of
this State, and that he has not,
voted during this election.
The Managers have the power
to fill a vacancy, and if none
of the Managers attend, the
citizens can appoint from among
the qualified voters, the
Managers, who, after being duly
sworn, can conduct the elec
tion.
At the close of the election
the Managers and Clerks must
proceed publicly to open thr
ballot box and count the ballots
therein, and continue without
adjournment until the same is
completed, and make a state
ment of the results for each
office and sign the same.
Thereafter the Chairman of the
Managers, or someonei
designated by the Board, must
deliver to the Commissioners of
Election the poll list, the box
containing the ballots and writ
ten statements of the results
of the election.
At the said election qualified
electors will vote upon the adop
tion or rejection of amendments
to the Constitution, as provided
in the following JOINT

power of eminent domain by
the Municipalities of Florence
County or housing or redevelop
ment authorities functioning in
the Municipalities of Florence
County for the purpose of slum
clearance and redevelopment
work in areas within the cor
porate limits of the
Municipalities of Florence Coun
ty or within the jurisdictional
area of the housing authorities
of the Municipalities of Florence
County which are predominantly
slum or blighted, in order to
acquire and clear such areas,
to prepare them for re-use and
for sale or other disposition to
private enterprise for private
purposes or to public bodies for
public purposes, to require that
just compensation be paid for
property and property rights
taken pursuant to such use of
the power of eminent domain,
and to provide that in cases
of condemnation of land, where
re-use is for private purposes,
the condemnee shall be given
the first opportunity to purchase
the land when it is sold by
the condemnor for such re
use?
