Human nature will never be
changed for better except by
the regenerating power of the
Spirit of God. Man-made pro
grams of world peace appeal
to the natural man in his ideal
ism, but they are doomed by the
basic depravity of human na
ture." Dr. Commons illustrated
this point by citing the Philip
pine Islands as exhibit “A.”
“Forty years ago there was
not a fundamental Baptist
church in the islands. Today
there are 300 churches and
these churches are completely
in the hands of the nationals.
They are sending forth their
own missionaries to Asiatic
countries."
“For ever, 0 Lord, thy word
is settled in heaven" (Psalm
119:89) was the sounding board
from which speakers from ev
ery continent and many lang
uages gave evidence of their
living allegiance and loving
loyalty to the Lord Jesus
Christ. The Faith will live—
His word is settled in heaven—
and those of the ICCC are
committed to keeping that faith
at any cost.
“The concluding outdoor ral
ly—the Convocation of Faith—
which included a parade of
nationals dressed in the garb
of their homelands and with
their national flags flying in
the sea breeze of Cape May,
dramatized the working of the
Holy Spirit in the Church of
the Lord Jesus Christ. The red,
yellow, brown, black and white
are brothers in Christ. Their
return to their homelands with
renewed zeal and determina
tion to preach the Gospel of
Jesus Christ will secure for
the national churches the know
ledge that they do not stand a-
lone! Thousands of voices gave
harmonious testimony that there
are those who bow their knee
