Mrs. Richard L. Baker, second from

and June comprise the second quarter.
This is the second time Newberry has
won such a trophy. With Mrs. Baker are,

Clarence Adams
rites Saturday
Clarence F. Adams, 78, died
Thursday at a Columbia hospi
tal after a long illness.
He was born and reared in
this county and was the son
of the late Pinkney and Henri
etta Cromer Adams and was a
member of Wightman Metho
dist church, Prosperity, and
was a former employee of the
S. C. State hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Mary Hawkins Adams; five
sons, James W. Adams, Rock-
ledge, Fla., MSgt. Albert M.
Adams, Sumter, Ralph Adams,
Saluda, N. C., Dewey Adams,
Union, Thurmond Adams, New
berry; two daughters, Mrs.
Homer Taylor, Rock Hill and
Mrs. Ray Wicker, Saluda; one
brother, Johnny Adams, Ashe
ville, N. C. and one sister, Miss
Eunice Adams, Newberry.
Funeral services were held
Saturday from his church with
Rev. Raymond Brock conduct
ing the service. Interment was
in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
