Mr. and Mrs. George Leland Summer, Jr. announce
the engagement of their daughter, Lila Elizabeth, to
William Beale Moore, son of Dr. and Mrs. Milton Moore
of Newberry. A September first wedding is planned.

Fowler Jr. was her only attend
ant. She wore a silk aqua dress
with matching accessories. .
The grooms’ mother chose a
blue lace costume with match
ing accessories, and wore a
yellow-throated white o r c h id
corsage.
In the dining room, where
the two families enjoyed a
seated dinner following the
ceremony, the bride’s table was
encircled at the base with
gathered net. White candles in
a four-branch candelabra, cen
tered with summer flowers,
furnished a background for
the cake.
The dining table was covered
with a white satin cloth, over
which was placed an imported
embroidered organdy cloth. An
arrangement in the center of
this table consisted of a large
frosted crystal rose and fern,
flanked on either side with
matching candle holders with
net puffs.
The places of the bride and
groom were marked with a
miniature bridal couple.
On the table in the living
room where the bride’s regis
ter was kept was an arrange
ment of white orchids and
glowing white tapers.
The couple left for a wed
ding trip during the afternoon.
For traveling, the bride wore
a three-piece powder blue linen
suit with matching accessories.

Augusta, Ga. became the bride
of Mr. Robert H. Fellers of
Newberry in the presence of
the immediate families at 3:00
p.m„ Saturday, June 22 at 633
Boundary street.
Officiating at the ' ceremony
was the Rev. George W. Duffie,
D.D., pastor of Central Metho
dist church.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George Perkins
of Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Fel
lers is the son of Mrs. D. 0.

Fragrant magnolia blossoms
and foliage were used for the
traditional nuptial setting
Glowing tapers in brass tree
candelabra, and arrangements
of gladioli and mums in brass
floor baskets were used to form
the setting for the altar upon
which the couple kneeled to
take their vows. Summer flow
ers were used throughout the
home.
The bride was lovely in a
street-length bridal dress of
pink silk organza over taffeta.
The long fitted sleeves and V-
neck were adorned with double
fabric ruffle trim. Her should
er-length veil of illusion fell
from a band of seed pearls, en
crusted with hand-cut crystals.
She carried a bouquet of one

the Junior Legion baseball
team and the Little League
Witnesses meet
in Greenville
Members of the Newberry
Congregation of Jehovah’s
Witnesses leave this week to
represent the area at the
group’s “Good News For All
Nations” District Assembly in
Greenville, August 1-4. Timo
thy L. Brooks, Overseer of the
Newberry Congregation, will
lead the local delegation.
Brooks said all meetings of
the local congregation will be
suspended through the conven
tion week.
According to Brooks, more
than 7000 persons are expected
to attend the four-day gather
ing, which will be held at the
Memorial auditorium, Green
ville.
The area delegates will take
along their entire families
since the Witnesses believe in
training children right along
side the adults. Many will be
volunteer workers in operating
the large gathering.
Locally, the Witnesses meet
three times a week at their
Kingdom Hall. “Our meetings
are all free, just as will be
all the sessions of our conven
tion. Everyone is welcome to
attend,” Brooks concluded.
