Linda Caroline Taylor and
Orr McClentjc Cobb Jr. were
married at 5 p.m. Sunday,
June 23, 1968. The Rev. Gene
Beck officiated at Wittenberg
Lutheran church in Leesville.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Martin L.
Taylor of Leesville and the
bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Orr McClentic Cobb
Sr. of Newberry.
James W. Ingram of Lex
ington served as organist for
the marriage service.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor-
length gown of candlelight
silk organza and imported re
embroidered Brussels’ lace.
The Empire bodice was ap-
pliqued as was the deep,
slightly A-shaped hemline.
The attached chapel train of
silk organza fell in soft folds
from a wedding-ring neckline
of Brussels’ lace.
The bride’s mantilla was
fashioned of silk illusion bor
dered with heirloom, imported
Brussels’ lace. She carried a
bouquet of stephanotis center
ed with an orchid.
Miss Linda Kay Monts, of
Irmo, was maid of honor. Miss
Cecelia Lanham of Edgefield
and Miss Judy Sadler of New
York City were bridesmaids.
They wore floor-length sheath
dresses of apple green linen
fashioned with standup neck
lines of matching irish lace.
Their headpieces were designed
of matching crowns of irish
lace ,softly brimmed in double
illusion. The attendants car
ried nosegays composed of
yellow daisies.
Honorary attendants includ
ed Miss Myrna Caughman of
Leesville, Miss Mary Beth
Hare of Saluda, and Miss
Diane Holmes of Edgefield.
George Barnes and Jeffery
Derrick of Leesville, served
as acolyte and crucifer, res
pectively.
Mr. Cobb was his son’s best
man and usher-groomsmen were

left for a trip to Hilton Head
Island. They now reside at
306 Yates Avenue, Charleston.

oline Taylor, recent bride-elect
with a linen shower in the
lounge of Kinard Hall at New
berry College. The hostesses
led the guests in several
games, after which everyone
enjoyed light refreshments.
Mrs. Herschel A. Kemper and
Mrs. James F. Coggins honor
ed Miss Taylor on May 4 with
a luncheon at the home of
Mrs. Kemper on Springdale
Drive in Newberry. Twelve
guests enjoyed a delicious meal.
The hostesses presented the
bride-elect with* a beautiful
silver Revere bowl.
On May 10 Miss Judy Sad
ler and Mrs. Marion Sadler
honored Miss Taylor with a
miscellaneous shower at the
home of Mrs. Saddler, on
Church Street in Leesville.
Games were enjoyed, after
v/hich delicious chicken salad
plates and iced tea Avere serv
ed on individual trays.
Miss Susan Frazier and Miss
Linda Taylor, recent bride-el
ects, were honored with a cof
fee on the morning of May 18
at the home of Mrs. L. H.
Jordan in Newberry. Mrs. W.
F. Partridge, Mrs. W. H Ted-
ford and Mrs. Jordan were
the hostesses for the social
hour. The guests enjoyed re
freshments of coffee, punch
and various sandwiches, cake,
cookies, and fruits. The hos
tesses presented each bride-
elect with a useful Corningware
baking dish.
Mrs. J. Elbert Dickert and
Mrs. W. C. Carter honored
Miss Taylor with a luncheon
on May 18 at the home of
Mrs Dickert in Newberry.
Each of the 16 guests received
orchid corsages as a favor. A
delicious meal was enjoyed.
The hostesses presented the
bride-elect with an 8-piece set
of Corningware.
, Delta Mu Chapter of Kappa
Delta Sorority surprised Miss
Taylor with a miscellaneous
shower on May 22 at the home
of Mrs. Finis Johnson in New
berry. Approximately forty
girls enjoyed an evening of
fun, entertainment, and ham
burger cookout on the patio.
On May 29 Mrs. Steve C.
Griffith, Mrs. Eugene Griffith,
and Mrs. J. Donald Rook, hon
ored Miss Taylor with a lunch
eon at the Palmetto Club in
Columbia. Twelve guests en
joyed a meal consisting or
shrimp creole and trimmings.
The hostesses presented the
bride-elect with a pair of
delicate pink lace bedroom
slippers.
Mrs. Heber Warner honored
Miss Taylor with a miscellan
eous shower on June 11 at
her home on Chufch street in
Leesville. Mrs. Warner led
the guests in several original
games. The guests were in
vited into the dining room
where delicious refreshments
were served.
On June 12, Miss Myrna
Caughman and Mrs. H. M.
Caughman honored Miss Taylor
with an afternoon drop-in at
the home of Mrs. Caughman.
Those persons receiving the
guests included Mrs. 0. M.
Cobb, Sr., mother of the groom
elect, Mrs. J. L. Feagle, aunt
of the groom elect, Mrs. Mar
tin L. Taylor, mother of the
bride-elect, and the bride-elect.
The hostesses served refresh
ments consisting of punch and
various sandwiches, cake and
cookies. The bride elect was
presented a piece of her sel
ected china pattern by the
hostesses.
Mrs. Clem Youmans and
Mrs. Waldo Huffman honored
Miss Taylor on June 14 with
a luncheon at the home of
Mrs. C. I. .Wilson in Clinton.
Twelve guests enjoyed a de
licious meal. The hostesses
presented the bride-elect with
a beautiful silver vegetable
dish.
Mr. and Mrs. 0. M. Cobb Sr.
and Mrs. J. L. Feagle enter
tained the wedding party the
evening of the rehearsal on
June 22 with a buffet dinner
in the social hall of Witten-
bery Lutheran church. The
hall was decorated with pink
roses, and smilax. A delicious
meal was enjoyed by the 28
guests who ate by candlelight.
