Miss Carroll Roberts became
the bride of Paul Wesley Har
mon in a candlelight ceremony
Friday evening, June 7, in the
United Methodist Church of
Lexington.
Officiating at the double ring
ceremony were Rev. Ralph 0.
Bates, pastor of the church,
assisted by the Rev. Harvey
Jennings Harmon, Jr., of New
berry, brothers of the groom.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Keith Roberts
and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Jen
nings Harmon, all of Lexington.
The bride is a niece of Miss
Sallie Lee Cromer and Mrs.
Mattie Carroll of Newberry.
Given in marriage by her fa
ther, the bride wore a gown of
rose-flowered lace featuring a
crescent waistline which swept
into a chapel train, highlighted
with lace cabbage roses. The
fitted bodice was designed with
seed pearls and crystal beads.
The circular veil of imported
English illusion fell from a
scalloped crown of seed pearls
and aurorra crystal beads. The
bride carried a bouquet of white
roses centered with a pink-
throated white orchid.

Miss Sheryl Roberts was her
sister’s maid of honor. 'Brides
maids were Miss Frances Roof,
Miss Sandra Smith and Miss
Gayle Bailey, all of Lexington.
The attendants wore short full-
skirted dresses of white sheer
dacron featuring pink cummer-
bands with butterfly bows in
the back. Their headpieces were
circlets of satin leaves high
lighted with crystal beads.
Each carried a single pink rose.
The father of the groom ser
ved as best man. Usher-grooms
men were Joel Harmon and
Danny Harmon, brothers of the
groom; Roger Lindler, cousin
of the groom, and Thad Roberts,
brother of the bride.
Wedding music was rendered
by Albert Keith Roberts, Jr.,
organist, and Rev. L. H. Buff,
Jr., who sang “The Greatest
of These Is Love” and “Wedd
ing Prayer.
After a wedding trip, the
couple is residing at 2500 1-2
Blossom St., Columbia.

NC) - The Combat Infantry
man Badge, mark of distinction
for the fighting soldier, was a-
warded to Private First Class
Billy E. Robinson near Pleiku,
Vietnam, May 22.
Pvt. Robinson, 21, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Eddie J. Robinson, 400
Drayton St., is a rifleman in
Company A, 2nd Battalion of
the 4th Infantry Division’s 8th
Infantry.
CIBs have been awarded since
late in World War II for sus
tained contact against an ene
my in ground action. The badge
is a blue rectangle with a silver
rifle mounted on it and a curved
wreath at the top. Subsequent
awards are represented by stars
in the center of the wreath.
Pvt. Robinson entered the Ar
my in August 1967, completed
basic training at Ft. Gordon,
Ga., and was last stationed at
Ft. Jackson. He graduated from
Qallman High School, New
berry.
