JAMES 0. (BUTCH) ZOBEL G. N. Long, 83, rites Thursday George Nolan Long, 83, of Route two, Newberry, widower of Minnie Lee Banks Long, died Wednesday at the Newber ry County Memorial hospital after an illness of several weeks. A lifelong resident of this county, he was a son of the late Abram and Alice Quat- tlebaum Long. He was a re tired farmer and a member of Bethany Lutheran church. Surviving are five, sons, Ed ward, Earl, James, LeRoy, all of Newberry, and Paul, of Chicago, 111.; six daughters, Mrs. Allan Longshore, Mrs. Colie Woodward, Mrs. Frances Neel, Mrs. Larry Bouknight, all of Newberry; Miss Cather ine Long of Joanna, and Mrs. Annie Laurie Berry, also of Newberry- four sisters, Mrs. Lola Barr, Mrs. Bertha Wicker, Mrs. Essie Wicker and Mrs. Lizzie Kinard, all of Newberry. Funeral services were held Thursday from his church with Rev. John A. Sanders conduct ing the service. Burial followed in Rosemont cemetery. County native dies in Texas Mrs. Lucille Epting Paulsen of Savannah, Ga., native of Newberry, died in San Diego, Texas last week. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Mon roe J. Epting and Mrs. Carrie L. Cline Epting. She is survived by her hus band, four sons and one daugh ter. Funeral services were held Thursday at St. Paul’s Luth eran church in Savannah, with burial in Bonaventure ceme tery.. Mrs. Abrams’ sister dies Miss Beulah Elizabeth Bry son, sister of Mrs. J. W. (De- ree) Abrams of Newberry, died at a Fountain Inn hospital last week. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Owings Presbyterian church, with in terment in the church cemetery.
