The money to purchase the wall locker was part of a
project the club sponsored in December at Newberry Col
lege. The club also was host to a Valentine party Wed-

Brooks to head
delegation
Timothy L. Brooks, presiding 1
minister of the local congrega
tion of Jehovah’s Witnesses,
will head a delegation to a 3-
day religious assembly to be
held in Abbeville this weekend
(February 1(1-18). Mr. Brooks
has been selected to be in charge
of th° auditing department dur
ing the event.
“Much time and effort go in
to an assembly such as this
one,” Brooks said “and all of
Jehovah’s Witnesses volunteer
their time and abilities in what
ever capacities are needed.”
The 3-day program will in
clude a variety of talks on Bible
subjects. Groups of ministers
will discuss better and more ef
fective ways on how Christians
should conduct home Bible stud
ies.
According to Mr. Brooks, Je
hovah’s Witnesses take very
seriously the Bible command
to meet together regularly. Five
congregational meetings are
conducted each week at the lo
cal Kingdom Hall. "The Abbe
ville assembly is an extension
of our regular meetings on an
enlarged scale, ’ Brooks said.
( pwards of 800 ministers are
expected from parts of Georgia,
North and South Carolina and
their families are expected to
attend the gathering. Included
on tile program will be a model
ministry school which serves as
an example for the congrega
tion to follow.
All normally scheduled meet
ings have been canceled for
this week at the local Kingdom
Hall.

speak on U. S. relationships
with the Russian-oriented com
munist world.
The final program in the
series, scheduled for April 4,
will present Dr. Frederick H.
Hartmann of the Naval War
College faculty in a lecture on
U. S. foreign policy and the
Chinese-oriented communists.
The series is sponsored by the
S&H Foundation.
