He suc ceeds Highway Patrolman W. E. Hamilton, who served as the group's first president. Other officers elected were Charles Moss, vice president; Frank H. Ward, secretary De puty Sheriff Andrew Shealy, treasurer; Melton Wall, chap lain; and Ben Bishop, assistant chaplain. Dallas Willingham and Carl Taylor were named to the Board of Directors. SAVINGS BONDS SALES FOR DECEMBER Joe M. Roberts, County Bonds Chairman today reported that Newberry County’s December sales of Series E and H Sav ings Bonds and Savings Notes (Freedom Shares) were $12,- 550, bringing total sales for the year in the county to $232,- 010.* For the first time in 19 years annual bond sales in South Car olina topped the $30 million mark. 1967 sales totaled $31,- 758,249, an increase of 6 per cent over sales of 1966. Building Permits Building permits issued by the city last week totaled $1150. Laird, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave L. Laird of 2130 Osborne Ave., has returned to the United States aboard the amphibious assault carrier USS Tripoli fol lowing an eight-month deploy ment off the coast of Vietnam. Fuller was born in W at erloo, the son of the late 11. C. and Fuia Wharton Fuller. He was a member of Waterloo Baptist ehureh. He made his home in New- berry with his sister, Mrs. Fur man Reag'in for 15 years and for the past two and a half years lived in the Jesse Frank Hawkins Nursing Home. He is survived by one brother Harold ('. Fuller of Charlotte, X. three sisters, Miss Gene vieve Fuller of Laurens, Mrs. W. G.
