The patriotic organizations
of Newberry are urging the
merchants and citizens of New
berry to display their flags bn
November 11 ,Veterans Day.
Our flag contains the red
stripes which represent hardi
ness and courage, the white
stripes and stars, innocence and
purity, and the blue field rep
resents vigilance, perseverance
and justice. These are the ideals
for which America fights. It
is the symbol of America and
stands as a reminder of the
hardships which have been en
dured through the centuries to
establish the freedom which
every citizen should prize
highly.
JASPER CHAPTER MEETS
WITH MRS. NICHOLS
The regular meeting of the
Jasper chapter DAR will be
held at the home of Mrs. Leon
Nichols, November 10, at 5:00
p.m. Associate hostesses are
Miss Anne Jones, Mrs. P. D.
Johnson, Mrs. Carl Amick and
Miss Karen Kirkegard.
Miss Rose Hamm will give a
program on “DAR Schools.”
