The wedding will take place December 2 at Aveleigh Pres byterian church. MEADE-LIVINGSTON Leander Graham Livingston of Pomaria and Brenda Sue Meade of Prosperity were mar ried on June 15 at Pomaria. Charles Sligh named head of Band Parents Charles Sligh was elected president of the Newberry High School Band parents As sociation at a meeting held Monday night in the high school auditorium. He succeeds Gordon Leslie, who served in that capacity last year. E. H. (Gene) Mathis was elected vice president, and Miss Lorraine Paris, band di rector, will serve as secretary- treasurer of the organiahtion. The large number of band parents in attendance gave ap proval to two fund-raising pro jects: the concession booth at the Newberry County Fair next week, and the annual chicken barbecue to be held in Dec ember. The band has been very ac tive this year, having perform ed at two home football games and two away from home. The band also took part in Band Day at Clemson University, will march Friday in the New berry High School Homecoming parade, and will compete in the marching band contest at the Spartanburg Fair next Tues day. In addition to preparing for these events, the band mem bers have been hard at work on the routine they will per form at the State Marching Band contest to be held in Camden this fall. Common pleas court convenes Court of Common Pleas will convene here Monday, October 16 with Hon. Julian B. Ness of Bamberg presiding. Carter, chairman of the sponsoring committee said today that plans for the Super Rally sponsored by the S. C. Democratic party are progress ing beautifully. Carter indicat ed that the response to the idea of a Super Rally to focus on the need to re-register has been very enthusiastic. The Rally will be held at the Piedmont Interstate Fair in Spartanburg county on Octo ber 21 at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free and tickets can be ob tained from local Democratic officials. “We expect 10,000 at the Rally and we expect to see that everyone who is eligible is re-registered,” Carter said, “This is a fine service we are providing for the people and we are happy to do it.” The Super Rally will also fea ture Arthur Smith, a wide var iety of other entertainment, and appearances by Senator Hollings, Congressman Dorn and Congressman Gettys, and Lt.
