’68 Buick to make its debut.
The new Riviera offers as
standard equipment most of the

The LeSabre for ’68 is of
fered in several styles—cus

door hardtops, four-door sed

Operator contest, will leave
Saturday for Richmond, Vir
ginia where he will compete
with other state winners from
the eastern half of the United
States for the national title.
The contest will be held at the
Virginia State Fair.

be his father, Raymond Ringer
and Asst County Agent Ollie
Donkle.
Charles is a member of the
senior class at Mid-Carolina

The Ford Mustang, America's
favorite fun car, arrives on
the 1968 scene with new pow
er, improved performance, all-
new interior trim schemes,
numerous styling refinements
and new comfort and conven
ience features.
“Mustang continues its phen
omenal sales leadership in the
face of new competition in the
specialty car market this year.
Its popularity is still growing
and we fully expect 1968 sales
to reflect this fact,” he said.
The 1968 interiors feature
newly designed bucket seats for
safety, new trim patterns and
a wider selection of colors. The
instrument panel is designed
for safety and convenience,
with instruments and controls
positioned directly in front of
the driver.
Since its introduction, Mus

comfort than ever. The number
of models ha£ been increased
from 12 to 14.

The 1968 intermediate car
bears no resemblance to its
predecessors. The car is four
inches longer overall.
All hardtop models have
ventless glass in the doors.
The Torino series features a
luxury interior with Nylon
faced, solid tone fabrics.
The Torino GT fastback is
easily distinguished by dual,
tapering side stripes.
The Fairlane and Fairlane 500
series are continued with a wide
range of engine and trim op
tions.
The 1968 Ford automobiles
will be on display at Shealy
Ford Motor on Friday, Septem
ber 22.

The 1968 Ford, substantially
altered in appearance, offers
something for every car buyer,
The lineup includes three more
models than in 1967, a host of
new mechanical and safety fea
tures, and two new engine op
tions.
With the 1968 Ford, “we feel
we are better equipped than
ever to go after a substantial
share of both low and medium
price markets,” said M. S.
McLaughlin, Ford’s vice pres
ident.
The addition of a Galaxie 500
two-door hardtop with a for
mal roof line and two Custom
500 Ranch Wagons brings the
total of 1968 Ford models to 21.
One of the wagons is a six-pas
senger model; the other, a 10-
passenger with dual facing rear
seats.
