Mrs. Anna Neal Gilliam, 104 years old, died Friday,
April 21 at her home, 704 Coates street after a long ill
ness.
She was born in Newberry county and was the daugh
ter of the late Mose and Anna Neal. She was a member
of Bethlehem Baptist church.
Mrs. Gilliam is survived by two sons, Mack Gilliam of
one daughter, Mrs. Ola Holloway of Newberry; 19 grand-
one daughter, Mrs. Ola Holioway of Newberry; 19 grand
children, 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 26 at 4 p.m .at Beth
lehem Baptist church. Rev. David Carter and Rev. D. E.
Francis conducted the service.

during the University Day

Dell Owens of Bunnydale
Angus Farm, Owings, is show
ing the registered Angus bull
which he has given to Boys
Farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Dell Owens,
owners of Bunnydale Angus
Farm in Owings, have donated
a six month old registered An
gus bull to Boys Farm. The
animal, son of two tremendous
animals, is a valuable acquisi
tion to Boys Farm. The sire is
one of the Mount Pleasant sen
ior herd sires, B. C. Prince 7
(Soledor), and the dam, a 1300
pound animal, is of the famous
Ruth Family originated at
Mount Pleasant.
Mr. Owens has made several
trips to Boys Farm and has
evaluated the possibilities of
developing a quality registered
Angus herd at Boys Farm. The
donation of the bull is the
first step in the program which
he has outlined for developing
the herd. Eventually, from the
7 Angus now at Boys Farm
there will be enough calves so
that each boy may have his
own calf to care for, use for
4-H projects, and raise for his
own.

pital company, Force Troops,
Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic.
A graduate of Newberry
High school, Jones entered the
service in July, 1965.

IS SET FOR MAY 12
The annual Indian Club ban
quet honoring Newberry Col
lege athletes is scheduled for
Friday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m.
in Kaufman Hall, Coach Har
vey Kirkland announced today.
Letterman certificates will be
awarded to athletes of three
varsity sports and to the cheer
leaders. Awards will be pre
sented to the most valuable
lineman and back of the 1966
football team and to the most
outstanding basketball players
of the 1966-67 season.
Members of the varsity foot
ball, basketball, baseball, and
tennis teams, cheerleaders,
coaches and Indian Club mem
bers are expected to attend.
