Miss Mary Susan Addison
became the bride of Gary Cla
rence Bouknight in an impres
sive double ring ceremony at
Epting Memorial Methodist
Church on Sunday, December
11 at four o’clock p.m. The
church was decorated with red
and white poinsettias, white
candles and palms.
Rev. M. B. Lee officiated.
Nuptial music was rendered by
Mrs. Ralph McEntire, organ
ist and Mrs. C. A. Shealy, Jr.,
who sang “O Perfect Love”
and “The Wedding Prayer”.
Horace B. Bouknight served
as his son’s best man. Ushers
were James Bouknight, brother
of the groom; Douglas Wess-
inger, cousin of the groom;
Wayne Mitchel and Douglas
Rinehart.
Miss Janet Senn, cousin of
the bride, was maid of honor.
She wore a formal dress fash
ioned with fitted bodice and
long sleeves of moss green vel
vet. The hell shaped skirt was
of candlelight peau de soie.
She carried a bouquet of white
poinsettia with moss green vel
vet streamers.
Miss Harriet Senn, cousin of
the bride and Miss Alicia
Counts were bridesmaids. They
were attired in dresses of red
velvet with fitted bodices and
long sleeves, with candlelight
peau de soie skirts. Their bou
quets were of red poinsettia
with red velvet streamers.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, Richard Earl Ad
dison, was beautifully attired
in a formal dress of white bri
dal satin made with a scoop
neck, fitted bodice and long
sleeves ending in ealla lily
points. The full skirt extended
into a chapel train. The dress
was overlaid with appliqued al-
encon lace and seed pearls and
was handmade by the bride’s
mother. The short veil was at
tached to a crown of lace and
seed pearls. She carried a
white Bible topped with lace
and a white, yellow-throated
cattalya orchid.
The bride’s mother wore a
palamento suit with matching
accessories and a green or
chid corsage. The bridegroom’s
mother was attired in a navy
suit with white accessories and
a white orchid corsage.
For a wedding trip to the
mountains, the bride wore a
three piece suit of horizon blue
houndscheck with matching ac
cessories and the orchid from
her bridal bouquet.
The couple will make their
home on Langford Street.
Mrs. Bouknight, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Earl Ad
dison of 1223 Kinard St., is a
graduate of Newberry High
school and is attending Colum
bia Commercial College.
Mr. Bouknight is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Benjamin
Bouknight of 20.43 Piedmont St.
He was graduated from New
berry High School and is em
ployed at Owens-Illinois.
The bridal couple and at
tendants received in the vesti
bule of the church following
the ceremony.
