Make a big batch so there’ll be some to eat and some to
hang on the tree.
First have five quarts of popped corn . . . then
2 cups sugar 1 teaspoon vinegar
1*2 cups water 1 teaspoon vanilla
V2 teaspoon salt Candy red hots
'2 cup light corn syrup
Keep popcorn hot and crisp in a slow oven. Combine
the five ingredients, cook to hard ball stage (250°). Remove
from heat and add vanilla. Slowly pour syrup over hot
poppet! corn, mixing well to coat every kernel. If you wish,
stir in some candy red hots for color. Rutter your hands
lightly before pressing popcorn mixture into balls.
Santa Claus had not yet arrived, but these students of Newberry Academy were
ready and waiting with reindeer and sleigh at the Newberry Christmas Parade.
