Such was the salutation of the Star of Dawn on earth! o 0 The Mummers Were Outlawed From earl y times in the British Isles there were bands of Mummers, masqueraders, ^uisers (going about in dis- quise, reminiscent of an old Roman custom at the Satur nalia ) who went from hall to hall, singing, dancing, or staging rude plays.
