ginning tills weekend.
City offices will be closed,
and most city employees will
have holidays on Saturday and
Monday, December iM and 2b,
and again on Saturday and on
Monday, December 31 and Jan
uary 2. City offices will be
open all day Wednesday, De
cember 28.
Offices in the courthouse will
be closed Friday, Saturday and
Monday, December 23—2b and
on Monday, January 2.
The Newberry - Saluda Re
gional Library will take a holi
day beginning today (Thurs
day), December 22 through
Monday, December 26. The li
brary will also be closed on
January 2.
The local {lost office, not to
be outdone by holidays falling
on Sunday, will be closed on
Monday, December 26 and on
Monday, January 2. There will
be no city or rural deliveries on
those days. Incoming mail will
be distributed to post office
boxes, outgoing mail will be
dispatched as usual. Collections
of mail will be according to
the holiday schedule on the col
lection boxes. There will be
special delivery service.
All banks, building and loan
associations, and most business
firms will be closed on Monday,
December 26 and Monday, Jan
uary 2.
Employees of the Oakland
and Moll oho n ; plants of the
Kendall Company will begin
their Christmas vacation on
Saturday, December 24 at 6:00
a. m. and will resume work on
Tuesday, December 27 at 6:00
a. m.
At Owens-Illinois and at the
Shakespeare plants, holidays
for employees will be Monday,
December 26 and Monday, Jan
uary 2.
Shawnee Manufacturing Co.
will close on Friday afternoon,
December 24 and remain closed
until Tuesday, January 3.
At Newberry Mills, Inc.,
closedown time will be 8:00
a. m. Saturday, December 24.
Employees will resume work at
8:00 a. m. on Tuesday, Decem
ber 27.
