Bridesmaids Luncheon
Mrs. Olin Berry, Mrs. Cyril
Abrams and Mrs. Edwin Eth-
erage were hostesses for the
bridesmaids luncheon at the
Wiseman Hotel. The honoree
was presented a corsage of pink
rosebuds, and a gift of sterling
in her chosen pattern. The bride
-elect presented attendants wdth
lace gloves.
Miss Cathy Burt, Miss Marcia
Brown, Miss Jenny Lyn Graham
and Miss Lauren Dunlap gave a
lingerie shower at Newberry
College in honor of Miss Neel
on April 21. On April 27, a
linen shower was given at the
home of Mrs. B. O. Long, who
was assisted by Mrs. Jerome
Havird. The honoree’s place was
marked with a white carnation
corsage.
On April 30, Mrs. Roy Stutts
and Mrs. Marcia Parrott gave
a miscellaneous shower at Mrs.
Stutts’ home. Mrs. Guy Long
and Mrs. J. H. Long were host
esses at a miscellaneous shower
at the Silverstreet Community
Center on May 4.
A luncheon in honor of Miss
Neel was given on May 7 by
Mrs. J. G. Long and Mrs. Angus
Senn at the home of the latter.
On May 13 Mrs. Harold Hunter
and Mrs. Grady Force enter
tained for the bride-elect with
a miscellaneous shower, and
another shower was given on
May 21 by Mrs. James Blair,
Misses Emily and Libby Blair.
Engagement is
announced
Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Ed
ward Chandler Sr. of Newberry
announce the engagement of
their daughter, Linda, to Mr.
Maxcy Grover Hanna Jr. of
Greenwood and Norfolk, Va.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. M. G.
Hanna Sr. of Greenwood. The
wedding will be held September
4, 1966 in Beth-Eden Lutheran
church.
Miss Chandler is a graduate
of Newberry High school and
will be graduated from Green
ville School of Nursing Sep
tember 2nd.
Mr. Hanna is a graduate of
Greenwood High school and of
Clemson University. He is em
ployed with Tidewater Con
struction Corporation as an en
gineer in Norfolk, Va.

street, whose marriage to Mr.
Robertson was solemnized on
May 27. An account of the
marriage was published in a
xecent issue of The Sun.
Following the wedding, a re
ception was held in the social
room of Silverstreet Lutheran
Church. The room was dec
orated with palms and fern and
the bride’s table was covered
with a cloth of nylon tulle, sa
tin and lace over taffeta. The
-three-tiered wedding cake, em
bossed with sweetheart roses
and fern, was flanked by cand
elabra filled with baroque tap
ers. Presiding at this table were
Mrs. Billie Sheppard and Mrs.
Carlisle Inabinet. Mrs. Cyril
Abrams and Mrs. James Med-
lock presided at the punch table.
Cheese straws, mints, punch
and wedding cake were served
by Misses Jenny-Lyh Graham,
Marcia Brown, Sandy Smith
and Mrs. Jim Hockett. Directing
the guests to the reception were
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bowers.
Miss Sandra Ann Inabinet pre
sided at the register table.
Greeting guests were Mr. and
Mrs. B. C. Inabinet, Jr. Mr. and
Mrs. Olin Berry introduced
guests to the receiving line; Mr.
and Mrs. . Fred Fellers bade
them goodbye and Mr. and Mrs.
R. E. Porter directed guests to
the home.

In the center of the- table
was an arrangement of pink
roses and fern. Pink flowers
throughout the house carried
out the pink and white color
scheme.
After the rehearsal on Fri
day evening, Mrs. Lila E. Car
penter and Mrs. Anne C. Fis
cher entertained with a buffet
supper.
This charming event was held
at the Carpenter home on Col-
houn street. Tables were set
for the 35 guests and each ta
ble had an arrangement of
pink roses.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was 'held at the
Newberry Country club.
The ball room was decorated
with palm, Topiary trees and a
fountain banked with magno
lias. Hurricane lamps entwined
with smilax and tied with white
satin bows were used on small
tables on the porch. The man
tels were decorated with pink
and white arrangements of
gladioli, carnations, and silver
candelabra. Arrangements of
pink and white gladioli and car
nations in epergens were used
on the buffet table. The bride’s
table was overlaid with a satin
and net cloth. The three-tiered
bride’s cake was decorated
with pale pink orchids. Silver
candelabra were also used.

Miss Lisa Anne Lominack
and Edward Stribble Longshore
were united in marriage on
Saturday, June 11, at 8:00 p.m.
in St. Mark’s Roman Catholic
Church, Newberry.
The Rev. Peter K. Berberrich
officiated at the Nuptial Mass
in a candlelight setting of tree
branched candelabra. Floor
baskets and altar vases of
white gladoli, white pom pom
chrysanthemums, carnations
and palms were used as a
background.
Before the ceremony, a pro
gram of wedding music was
presented by Prof. Darr Wise
of the Newberry College fac
ulty. His selections included
Chorale Prelude: O Lord God
Be Merciful To Us by Bach;
Arioso by Bach; Pastorale by
Purvis; Soul Adorn Thyself
With Gladness by Crueger-Bek;
Aria, bjrFlor Peeters. Trumpet
Voluntary by Purcell was used^
as the processional for the at
tendants. The Bridal Chorus
from Lohengrin by Wagner
was used for the bride and
Wedding March from A Mid
summer Night’s Dream by
Mendelssohn was used as the
recessional.
Mrs. Joyce Pruitt Frazier of
Aiken, soloist, sang Schubert’s
Ave Maria and The Lord’s
Prayer.
Given in marriage by her
step-father, Emerson Dwight
Jones of Newberry, the bride
was wearing an original gown
of imported silk organza with
re-embroidered appliqued lace
motifs, enhanced by a sheath
skirt with a detachable chapel
train. The slim skirt and the
edge of the bodice was trimmed
with a wide border of scalloped
Alencon lace. A full - length
veil of silk illusion fell from
a small pillbox hat’ covered
with Alencon lace appliques.
She carried a cascade bouquet
of white hybrid orchids and
stephanctis.
Mrs. Elmer Gordon Long of
Charleston, the matron of hon
or, wore a floor length, pink
linen Empire gown with an
A-line skirt. The capped Ka-
buki sleeves were edged with
Venice lace. A matching pillbox
hat completed her attire. She
carried a crescent bouquet of
mauve Cymbidium orchids, En
glish ivy and stephanotis. The
bridal attendants were similar
ly attired.

nack, cousin of the bride, was
maid of honor, Bridal attend
ants were Miss Bonnie Lynn
Lominack of Newberry, cousin
of the bride, junior bridesmaid;
Miss Barbara Helen Youmans
of Newberry; Mrs. James Har
vey Paschal of Columbia; and
Mrs. William Caldwell George
of Prosperity.
Edward Woodrow Longshore
served as his son’s best man.
Usher-groomsmen were Mr.
Reyburn Williams Lominack,
Jr., of Newberry and Charles
ton, brother of the bride;; Mr.
William Frank Lominack, III,
of Newberry, cousin of the
bride; Mr. Toby Minick of Lex
ington; Mr. Elmer Gordon

liam Watkins Wilkins of Col
umbia; ;and Mr. Eugene Free
man Lee of Columbia.
Mrs. Longshore is the daugh
ter of Mrs. Emerson Dwight
Jones of Newberry and the late
Dr. Reyburn Lominack. A grad
uate of Newberry College Mrs.
Longshore attended the Uni
versity of South Carolina and
has been teaching at N. Char
leston High school. In 1961,1
she was presented at the New
berry Cotillion.
The bridegroom’s parents are |
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Woodrow
Longshore of Kinards. He is
attending the University of S.
C. His social fraternity is Sig
ma Nu.
The couple will honeymoon
in Nassau.
