She was graduated from Newberry College, in 1965 and is now teaching at North Charleston High School in North Charles ton, S. C. She was presented at the Newberry Cotillon in 1961. Mr. Longshore, graduate of Newberry High School, is a senior at the University of South Carolina. His social fra ternity is Sigipa Nu. The Wedding is planned for June 11, at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church in Newberry. Wanda Rivas rites today Wanda* Margene Rivas, 7- month-old daughter of Mrs. Linda Bridges Rivas, died sud denly Tuesday afternoon at the home on Crosson Street. Surviving in addition to her mother are two brothers, Waldy and Wesley Rivas of Newberry; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver H. Bridges of Newberry. Funeral services will be con ducted today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at McSwain Funeral Home by Rev. M. B. Fryga and Dr. C. K. Derrick. Burial will be in West End Cemetery. Hunnicutt child dies in Texas •Betsy Ruth Hunnicutt, 5-year- old daughter of Billy and Bar- [ bara Hunnicutt, died Tuesday in Dallas, Texas, after a short ill- fness. Surviving are two sisters, I Libby and Julia Dianne Hunni cutt of the home; a brother, Stevie Huhnieutt of the home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hunnicutt of New berry; and maternal grandmo ther, Mrs. Belgard of Pineville, La. Fun&ral*: services wfil be con ducted in Alean Alexander, La., at a time to be announced. , Grogan service held on Friday John Pasko Grogan, 80, of Chappells, died Wednesday in Columbia after a lingering ill ness. Mr. Grogan was born in Greenville county, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Grogan. As long as his health permitted, he engaged in farm ing. He was a member of New Hope Baptist church in Cross Anchor. His wife, Mrs. Rosa Smith Grogan, died in 1961. He is survived by one son, Clarence Williams Grogan of Chappells; two daughters, Mrs. Elliott Williams of Silverstreet and Mrs. Myrtle Jones of Clin ton;. two brothers, Irby Gro gan of Spartanburg and Edwin Smith of Greenwood; one sis ter, Mrs. Leila Watkins of Sil verstreet. Funeral services were con ducted Friday at Chappells Baptist church by Rev. Roy Durst and Rev. A. W. Dennis. Interment was in New Hope church cemetery EOC COMMITTEE . . . Williams charged that at tempts were being made to throw Negro group against Ne gro group “for the benefit of some unknown persons or indi viduals.” Dr. J. E. Grant, Negro psysi- cian, member of the present commission, voiced strong sup port in favor of its continuance. Dr. Grant said the ministerial alliance has formed a list of names for appointment to a pri vate commission. He named a teacher, a nurse and a house wife among them and asked if they would be better able to represent the poor than the present Negro members of the commission.
