ENDURING .... The gaily dec
orated tree is an enduring Christ
mas tradition in homes across the
country. This tree, decorated in
turn of the century elegance,
would still be in style today.
EARLY CARD
The Christmas card is a johnny-
come-lately among our cherished
holiday traditions. You can get
an argument as to who sent the
first card. Some hold that it was
Joseph Cundall, a London artist,
whose lithographed, hand-colored
card was sent to friends in 1846.
THE EP1HIPANY
Many times during the holiday
season we hear reference to the
Epiphany, yet many do not know
when it occurs and how it fits
into the Christmas calendar. The
Epiphany is observed on January
6 and marks three events in the
life of Jesus: His baptism, the
visit of the Wise Men to Bethle
hem, and the miracle at Cana.
Welcome Card
An easy-to-do photo will
make an excellent Christmas
card for family and friends.
Keep it simple. A picture of
the family, with a few simple
props, will suffice. The front
door is an ideal and familiar
setting. Equally suitable are
the fireplace, staircase, or at
the piano.
