THURSDAY, DECEMBER 27, 1962 THE NEWBERRY SUN, NEWBERRY, SOUTH CAROLINA Page Five Young Ladies Presented At Cotillion Dance December 14 Three lovely debutantes were presented at the fall dance of the Newberry Cotillion Club Friday evening, December 14, at the Country Club of Newberry. The charming young ladies pre sented were Miss Susan Christine Livingston, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert E. Livingston; Miss Donna Rook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Don Rook; and Miss Bar bara Helen Youmans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike L. Youmans. Each wore a beautiful full length white formal and carried a nosegay of pink roses and pink tulle with pink satin streamers cascading down. Receiving the guests were Her- .schel A. Kemper, President of the Cotillion Club and Mrs. Kemper; George K. Dominick, vice-presi dent and Mrs. Dominick; John R. Frazier, secretary-treasurer and Mrs. Frazier. Also receiving were the three lovely ladies who were presented. The club was beautifully and effectively decorated for the pre sentation in the mood of the holi day season. The first danee of the evening was danced by the young ladies with their fathers. They were then joined by their escorts for the sec ond daance. The debutantes escorts were: Miss Susan Christine Livingston with James Harvey Wilkerson Jr. of New’berry College; Miss Donna Rook w r ith Charles Esdom Harley of Newberry and the University of South Carolina and Miss Barbara Helen Youmans with Howard Douglas of the University of Vir- gina. Music for the evening was furn ished by Neil Altee and his orch estra. Follov/ing the third card dance dinner was served. The dining room was attractively decorated in the same color scheme as the ball room. Seated at the main table were the officers of the club and their wives and the debutantes and their escorts. The head table was cen tered with an effective silver can delabra beautifully arranged with white snapdragons and pink roses enhanced by the soft glow from the white candles. The other tables’ decor featured pink and red satin ribbon stream ers with white candles. Each debutante was presented with a sterling silver porringer as a moment© of the occasion. After dinner coffee was served in the ballroom and dancing con tinued until one o’clock. Out of town guests included Miss Mary Ellen Freese of Denver, Colorado, escorted by Ed Garrison of Washington and Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Mace of Johnsonville, | Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jordan of Co lumbia, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Moore of Columbia, and Bobby Livingston Jr. of Newberry and the Univer sity of South Carolina.
