Franklin, of Rt. 2, Prosperity, died early Monday momingr at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. She had been critical for the past week. Mrs. Franklin was born and reared in the St. Lukes Section of Newberry County, a daughter of the late J^cob Luther and Ki- ziah Frances Morris Bowers. She made her home in Greenwood where she was employed by the Matthews Mill for more than 25 years. Since the death of her hus band in 1957 she had made her home on Rt. 2, Prosperity where she was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Norman (Ethel) Boozer, Mrs. M. B. Amelia Catherine Bowers of New berry; four brothers, L. L., George Houston, and Waiter Bradley Bow ers, ail of Prosperity, and a num ber of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conduct ed at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mc- Swain Funeral Home by Rev. Dr. Thomas F. Suber and Rev. Rufus Rowe. Interment was in Green wood Memorial Gardens in Green wood. Active pallbearers were Walter Grady, Harold and Capers Bowers, J. F. Wessinger and Hoyt Morris. Bowers Dies Jacob M. Bowers, 78, of Rt. 2, Prosperity, died Tuesday night of last week at the Columbia Hospi tal after several weeks critical ill ness. Mr. Bowers was born and reared in the St. Lukes Section of New berry County, a son of the late Jacob Samuel and Elizabeth C. Bowers. He was a farmer and member of Zion Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Moore ‘Bowers; three sis ters, Mrs. J. C. Butler of Silver- street, Mrs. Arthur Boozer of Newberry and Mrs. Saxon Daw kins of Prosperity, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 5 p.m. Thursday at Zion Meth odist Church by Rev. George Straitt, and Dr. Thomas F. Suber. Interment was in the church ce metery. Active pallbearers were David Bowers, Joe Moore, Otto Moore, William Aycock, Jakie Dawkins, and Sammy Bowers. W. Henderson. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Fennell and family have moved to 1901 Harper street in the home they bought from A. F. Ellis. Annual Conference in June. Rev. Epps is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L.
