The December meeting of Cub
Scoot Pack 66 was held at the
ARP Church on Friday, December
22 at 7:30 p.m.
Robert Renwick, Cubmaster,
opened the meeting and Cub Ran-
dy Stockman led the pledge to the
flag.
Devotionals were given by Mrs.
Walter Summer, Den Mother.
Parents and friends were wel
comed and the roll v^as called by
Dens with Den 3 winning the at
tendance banner with 100%.
Renwick announced that Pack
66 would participate in the Dist
rict Club Scout Field Day to be
beld at Mid-Carolina High School
on January 20. Copies of the an
ticipated program of activity and
wooden turtles were passed out
for fathers and sons to begin
working on these.
A film was shown by J. W. Rin
ger Jr., based on Peter Marshall’s
sermon, “Let’s Keep Christmas.”
Each Den Mother, with her boys,
told of the activities they had
worked on in December pertaining
to Christmas. Each Cub had •
spread good will during the
Christmas season.
Elmer Shealy, Institutional rep
resentative, then presented the
Charter for the new year to the
Cobmaster, and passed out regis
tration cards to the Cubs, Cub-
master, Asistant Cubmaster, Den
Mothers, and Committeemen.
Gne-j®ar Gold Service Stars
were given to Eric Miller, Craig
Morehead, William Renwick, Stan
ley Renwick, and Byron Senn. A
two-year star was given Ralph
Summer.
Award and achievements were
presented as follows: David
Reames, Wolf badge; Eric Miller,
Bear badge; Van Cuthbertson, one
silver arrow under Wolf; David
Graham, one silver arrow under
Wolf, Bran Shealy, one silver ar
row under Wolf and William Ren
wick, two silver arrows under
Wolf; Van Cuthbertson, Danny
Stone, Bran Shealy, and Randy
Stockman, Gold Arrow under
Wolf.
Gifts were passed out, which
had been placed under the Christ
mas tree, to parents from their
sons and to the Cubs from their
Den Mothers.
The meeting was closed with
everyone standing in a circle and
singing several Christmas carols.
A period of fellowship, with soft
drinks and Christmas goodies be
ing served, was enjoyed by all.

Rev. T. Hayne Boozer, a na
tive of Newberry, and pastor of
St. Paul's-St. Luke's Lutheran
Parish at Shenandoah, Va., died
Saturday morning at a Harrinson-
burg, Va., hospital after a brief
illness.
He was born and reared in
Newberry, a son of the late A.
Rhett Boozer and Mrs. BftUe Dom*
inick Boozer. He was graduated
from Newberry College and
Southern Lutheran Theological
Seminary and served pastorates at
Charleston, Orangeburg and Stev
ens City, Va., before going to
Shenandoah six years ago. He
was a member of Grove Hill-New
port Ruritan Club and before the
ministry, was a member of the
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer
in Newberry.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Gertrude Gillespie Boozer; a
daughter, Mrs. Anabel Boozer of
the College of William and Mary;
a son, Alan Boozer of the home,
and a sister, Mrs. W. A. Rhodes
of DeLand, Fla.
Funeral services were conducted
Sunday in Shenandoah. Services
also were conducted at 2 p.m. Mon
day at Colony Lutheran Church
near Prosperity by Rev. H. A.
Dunlop and Dr. Karl W. Kinard.
Burial was in the church cemetery.

Native Of
Prosperity Dies
William E. Moseley, 80, a na
tive of Prosperity and a Jackson
ville, Fla., furniture executive,
passed away Christmas Day at a
Jacksonville, Fla., hospital after a
combination of pneumonia and
terminal cancer of the throat
which had spread. He had lived
in Jacksonville 45 years.
He was vice president of Rid-
gell Furniture Co. and had been
active in the furniture industry
since 1923.
He was an engineering graduate
of the University of Virginia. In
June, 1956, he was declared a life
member of the Virginia alumni as
sociation’s Thomas Jefferson So
ciety for 50 years service to the
University.
Mr. Moseley was a communi
cant of St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Jacksonville.
He had property investments in
Prosperity and was interested in
promoting the town’s progress.
He also had property investments
in the Greenwood area, and the in
vestments in both Prosperity and
Greenwood brought him to the
Newberry area frequently.
Survivors include his sisters,
Mrs. D. E. Ridgell Sr.; a nephew,
Dan E. Ridgell; three nLces, Mrs.
William D. Waldrop and Mrs.
William G. Helfrich, all of Jack
sonville; and Mrs. E. Clay Ross-
man of Ft. Lauderdale.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday at Jacksonville, with
burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Jessie Lee Buffington, 73, died
Sunday at his home in Saluda. He
had been a resident of Saluda
County all his life and was a
farmer. He was a member of Trin
ity Lutheran Church.

Funeral services were held at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Saluda
at 4 p.m. Monday.
