August 7th, in Aveleigh Presbyterian church, Dr. E. Neil Truesdell, pastor of the bride officiated, using the double ring ceremony. The church was decorated in pink and white, gladioli and car nations aqfi tube joses agajpst a background of palm and ferns. Dennis Bedenbaugh, of Pros perity, cousin of the bride, was organist and Miss Judy Shealy, was soloist. The ushers were Jimmy Beden baugh of Prosperity and Norman Martin of Newberry, cousins of the bride; Ellis Shealy, brother-in- law of the bridegroom, Johnny Felker, brother of the bride; Em ory Hipp, and Jamie Henderson, cousin of the bridegroom, Billy Dominick and Toby Shealy. The bridegroom’s best man was his father. Miss Mary Helen Felker, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a floor length dress of sky blue nylon chiffon over mat ching taffeta with a shirred top with a large bow on the left shoulder. The bridesmaids were Misses Ernestine and Ellie Felker, sis ters of the bride; Mrs. Jimmy Bedenbaugh of Prosperity, sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. Merle Bedenbaugh of Prosperity; Floy Ann Dennis of Newberry, Claire Dennis of Columbia, and Joanie Jones of Newberry, cousins of the bride and Miss Moriat Nichols of Newberry. They wore dresses of rainbow colors with matching headpiece, fashioned after the honor attendants. All attendants carried a single talisman rose, and each wore a rhinestone neck lace, gift of the bride. The flower girl, little Miss Alicia Counts of Newberry, wore a floor length dress of nile green organza like the honor attend ants and worn with a matching hat. She carried a pink basket with rose petals. The bride who was given in marriage by her father was lovely in her floor length gown of schif- fli embroidered nylon organza. The fitted bodice with a round neckline and shirred sleeves came to a point in the back and front. A large bow of organza formed a chapel train at the back of the full skirt. Her elbow length mitts of self-matching material were fastened with self cove Her four-tiered finger fell from a tiara of- r, and she carried a bo feathered carnations and the valley centered with tlyea orchids. The bride’s parents entertained with a reception on the Idwn of their home on Kinard street. For a wedding trip to the moun tains the bride wore a white bro caded satin sheath and jacket en semble witfc; jtomE blue agsessor- ies with the orchid corsage from her wedding bouquet. Mrs. Kocn is a recent graduate of Newberry high school . and is now a student at the Jefferson School of Commerce in Newberry. Mr. Koon attended Prosperity high school and is a member of the South Carolina National guard having recently completed a six- months course in Engineering. Graveside services -were con ducted at Antioch Baptist Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas Mobley. Co-op Elects New Directors Three directors were elected at the annual meeting of the New berry Electric Cooperative, Inc. which was held Thursday night at the Newberry County Fair grounds, with a large number of members in attendance. She was lovely in her wedding gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over satin fashioned with a fitted bodice^featuring, accents of sequin and pearls. Long sleeves tapered to points over the wrists and the back opening of the bodice was fastened with tiny self covered buttons. The bouffant floor length skirt of tulle was appliqued with lace motifs embroidered with se quins, The couple with their parents and attendants greeted the guests in the church vestibule after the service. For a trip to the mountains of North Carolina the bride donned an olive green dress with unfitted plaid jacket, and brown and beige accessories. The orchid from her Bible completed her costume. The couph; will be at home at Route 2, Simpsonville after Aug ust 25. is a graduate of Newberry High School, Newberry College and did graduate work at the University of North Carolina. She taught in the Brookland-Cay- ce Schools system in West Co lumbia for the past four years. Mr. Cooper is a graduate of Simpsonville High School and Draughon’s Business College. The only known remnant of the settle ment is the colony’s Cardross seal, named for the expedition’s leader. The seal was given to the Charleston Library Society by General Thomas Pinckney, who received it from a descendant of Lord Cardross.
