She wore red lace over net and taffe ta, accented at the neckline, waist, and skirt with dainty red satin trim. Her headpiece was white taffeta and tulle, accented with small white lace flowers. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of white pleated net, clustered with red carnations. The bridesm*;^ were Miss Do- ney Crain of Newberry and Miss Rebecca Glover of Columbia. Their dresses were identical to the honor attendant. Their headpieces were red taffeta and tulle, accent ed with small white lace flowers. They carried heart-shaped bou quets identical to the honor at tendant. Each of the attendants wore email pearl earrings and necklaces, gifts from the bride. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, John C. Eleaser, of Little Mountain. She wore a bal lerina length gown of Chantilly iace over tulle and taffeta, featur ing a scalloped neckline accented with irridescent sequins. From the fitted bodice fell \ a full scalloped skirt. The long sleeves ended in calla lily points over the hands. Her fingertip veil of nylon Illu sion was attached to a crown of scalloped lace, outlined with Ir- $ ridcscent sequins. Her only orna ment was a single strand of pearls, a gift from her bridegroom. She carried a white prayer book top ped with a white orchid and show ered with satin streamers tied in love knots. The bride’s mother wore a navy crepe dress with black and white accessories and a lavendar cor- A wedding of siptplicity and wide interest was that of Miss Carolyn Lorraine Bleater and James Gilder Clamp, both of New berry, which was solemnised on Sunday afternoon, February 14, It»60, at 4 o’clock at Central Methodist Church. The Impressive double ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend Thurman II. Vickery, pastor of the bride. The nuptial setting was created by altar vaaes of white gladioli and pom pomst white candles burned on the altar. Mrs. J. E. Wiseman, organist, and Mrs. William Hents, soloist, presented the wedding music. Be fore the ceremony Mrs. Hents sang “Entreat Me Not To Leave Thee” and “O Perfect tiove.” Tra ditional marches were also used. Ushers were Ernest McDowell of Bumter, Ted McDowell Jr„ of Newberry, Eugene Norris of Beau fort, all cousins of the groom, and Richard Anderson of Ware Shoals. Best man was the bridegroom’s brother-in-law, William H, Round- tree, of Wlnstoi-Salem, North Carolina. sage. The bride’s table was especially lovely with the beautiful wedding cake as the centered decoration. The table was covered with a dainty white cut- work cloth over pale green taffe ta. Soft pink candles in silver can delabra and pale pink camellias added to the loveliness. Delicious punch with cakes and nuts were served. After the reception, the bride and bridegroom left on their wed ding trip to Florida. For traveling the bride wore a brown wool suit with beige accessories and the orchid lifted from her prayer book. The bride, daughter of Mrs. Wendell C. Eleaser and the late Mr. Eleaser, of Little Mountain, is a graduate of Little Mountain High School and Columbia College. She is presently serving as educa tional assistant at Central Meth odist Church. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira L. Clamp, is a graduate of Newberry High School and at tended Nswberry College. He is an administrativs specialist with the S. C. National Guard. Mm. Eula Evelyn Morri*, 61, wa» killed, and her Muter, MUi Leuiie Bickley, we* injured, when their italled car amaahed into them after it wa* * truck from be hind by another automobile, ac cording to Newberry County Coro ner George Summer. Mm. Morria end Miaa Bickley were Mending in front of their ear when it waa struck by a 1961 Dodge driven by Mra. Katie Sum mer, according to the coroner. Mra. Summer alao waa aerioualy injured. Ail three women lived in the Chapin area. Mra. Morria and Mies Bickley were en route home from work at Newberry Millt when their car broke down on the highway. The accident occurred at approximately 10:80 p.m. A truck driver told Coroner Summer he waa flagged around” the italled car by Mra. Morria, who, he aftid, waa in front of the car with a flashlight. He serves in the Operation! Branch of First U. S. Army G-4 (Logistics) Section. The veteran infantryman i« the son of Mr. Dalton 0. They have 4 childrent Thomas, 18: Susan, 1U: Gerald, 7; and Donald, 8. Major Carpenter entered the service in June 1648. After taking hie basic training at Camp Croft, he was sent to Officers Candidate School, Fort Benning, Ga. ahd parachute school. Re was com missioned a 2nd lieutenaut of In fantry December 7, 1944.
