sued the following statement:
“The forests of South Carolina,
and the products and benefits we
derive from them, are essential to
the livelihood, well-being and rec-

state.
“Our forests are one of out
few renewable natural resources,

Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, at
2 p. m. is the time for the battle
between the Newberry College Tn-
lians and Presbyterian College.
Setzler Field will again see *ome
real action as both teams are
looking for a last victory.
Presbyterian College will he
looking for their first victory,
also. They have not wen a game
this season, but they did hold the
powerful Lenoir-Rhyue team to a
0-0 score.
The Newberry College Indians
have lost the last three games to
Flon, Wofford, and last week
they loet to the Catawba Indians
by a $eore of 20-7. The Indians
have a 4-4-1 reeord at present,
and although It Is very unimpres
sive,, they will try to add another
victory on Thursday. Leading the
scoring list for the Indians are
halfback Rob Yatnall and Riiar
terhack Scotty Speares. Yarnall
leads In rushing with 245 yard*,
and the number two mao is half
hack Rohlvy Rowe with 241 yard*.
Scotty Speares has completed 13
passes good for 102 yards, aod eod
Sam Faolk has caught 5, Inclndiog

yards.
The Indians lost no time last
week in getting hack to piectlce,
for after the defeat by the Cataw^
ha on Thursday, they were scrim
mag-tug Friday and Saturday lu
spite of the Ivad weather.

two teams ended In a 13-0 score
