REV. ROBERT EL HARPER LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE T HERE are many kinds of light, from the torch to the arc light. They vary In intensity, but in one respect they are all alike— they are made to shine. And every man is expected to exert an influ* ence over his fellows. There are two ways to interpret what Jesus said about light. A good man will so bless men that they will rejoice and glorify God. The other way is to find that a man’s deeds so shine out into the darkness of sin and influence men to better things that they glorify God. There sre some practical ob servations that may be made about a Christian’s light. First, that light must be kept in touch with its source of supply. The flip of a switch at night can plunge a house into darkness. Another ob servation is that a Christian’s light will not bum in an alien atmosphere. Just as the flame of an oil light will go out if deprived of oxygen a Christian’s light will go out, his influence for good will fail, if he is not in constant fel lowship with God. Finally, be it observed that a Christian’s light may need to >be recharged or resupplied. Hie Christian must keep in constant touch with Jesus, his Saviour and Lord. His influence and his own Christian experience demand that he keep in constant touch with the Source of all life and good. GERMAN RE-ARMAMENT . . .
