Leaphart, home economics teacher in the Prosperi ty schools and a group of Jr. HA members left Tuesday for a weeks stay at the JHA camp at Ocean Drive Beach. Miss Clara Pugh of Abbeville and Prosperity, August bride-el ect, was honored with a miscel laneous shower, given by Mrs. James H. Barnes, Saturday even ing, July 28 at the home of Mrs. Barnes’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Hendrix. Lovely arrangements of mixed summer flowers were used in the living room. The honoree’s chair was mark ed with a white satin bow and she was presented a white corsage. The guests enjoyed several bri dal contests. The hostess assisted by her mother and Miss Dot Leaphart served strawberry short cake, nuts and punch. Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Eargle and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Epting and their two children, attended Home coming at Shady Grove Method ist church, near Irmo Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Eargle will leave today for Johnstown, Penn, where Mr. Eargle Will attend a reunion of the 56th Infantry div ision of World War I. Mrs. C. E. Hendrix is in New York City visiting her son Danny Newton and her brother-in-law, and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Joe Keller. Miss Clare Chappell of Charles ton spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Chap pell, With the Chappells Sunday was Mr. Joe White of Charleston. Mrs. C. S. Mills is in the New berry hospital undergoing treat ment. Mrs. P. E. Wise returned home Sunday from a two weeks’ visit with Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Wise in Riverdale, Maryland. E. B. Kibler of Dublin, Georgia is visiting his sister and brother, Miss Blanche Kibler and Dr. E. N. Kibler. am Mrs. J. T. Martin of Laurens and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Shear- ouse of Glen Alpine, N. The Connellys and Mr. Hoffman left Wednesday for Be rea, Va., to attend the wedding of Miss Mary Monroe and M. P. Connelly, Jr. Miss Phyllis Wise is visiting her aunt in Buffalo, N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Phifer and their two children of Kings Mountain, N. C., were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Foster and Mrs. J. L. Counts. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Scott and their son, Sonny, of Jacksonville, Florida spent Sunday with Mrs. Scott’s father, P. E. Wise. Sonny remained with his grandparents. Rev. and Mrs. Ben M. Clark will return home today (Thurs day) after a few day’s visit with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Helton and son at Kannapolis, N. C. Mrs. J. L.
