Hospital Births THOMPSON Mr. and Mrs. John D. Thomp son announce the birth of a six pound, 12 ounce son, Wm. Robert on June 27 at the local hospital. The mother is the former Anne Shealy. WALTON Mr and Mrs. Billy E. Walton announce the birth of an eight pound 12 ounce son, Ralph Ed ward at the Newberry hospital on June 29. Mrs. Walton is the former Fannie Mae Smith. FRICK Mr. and Mrs. John W. Frick are parents of an eight pound, 11 ounce son, William Thurston, born June 30 at the local hospital. 'Plumbing and books not in cluded in this sale. 8-2tc Boland Family Has Reunion The descendants of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel C. Boland met near Black’s Bridge, Prosperity at the cabin of Mr. and Mrs. T. Pink Mills on Sunday, June 24th for their annual family reunion. This family gathering is held the last Sunday of June in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Boland, and a few years ago met on Mrs. Boland’s birth day, June 27th. A delicious picnic dinner was served on the large shady out door table during the noon hour. About 138 persons attended the occasion. Seven of this number were visitors, among whom were Rev. and Mrs. H. S. Petrea. All six of Mr. and Mrs. Boland’s surviving children were present, as follows: Mrs. Kirk D. Lake, Mrs. David E. Cannon, Mrs. D. All Frick, Miss Bessie Boland and Dewitt C. Boland, all of Little Mountain, and Mrs. Jesse I. Bo land of West Columbia. May 30, 1956 7-3tp Mrs. Amick Passes In Greenwood Mrs. Elizabeth Huffstetler Am ick, 85, died Saturday afternoon at the Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. She had been ill for four months and was Serious for the past two weeks. Mrs. Amick was a native of Nor£h Carolina and was the daughter of the lato James and Anna Dunn Huffstetler. She had made her home in Ware Shoals with her daughter, Mrs. Lee Marler, for a number of years. Her husband, James Luther Am ick, died 18 years ago. Mrs. Am ick was a member of St. Peter’s (Pineywoods) Lutheran Church. She is survived by one son, Horace O. Amick, Donalds; four daughters, Mrs. Eunice Farr, Lit-' tie Mountain; Mrs. Rosa Dennis, Newberry; Mrs. Alma Reaves, Mrs. Zilla Marler, both of Ware Shoals, Also • three brothers, John Huffstetler, West Colum bia; William Huffstetler, Chapin; Robert Huffstetler, Prosperity; one half-brother, Charlie Huff stetler, Newberry; 10 grandchil dren and four great-grandchil dren survive. Funeraj services were held Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock from St. Peter's (Pineywoods) Lutheran Church with Rev. John Zeigler conducting the service. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Metzger Dies Suddenly Tuesday Mrs. Willie Belle Ducket Metz ger of - Savannah, Ga., daughter of Mrs. M. L. Duckett of 935 Fair street, Newberry, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home in Savannah last Tuesday morning. Mrs. Metzger had .apparently been in good health. Mrs. Duckett and Mrs. Metzger’s aunt, Mrs. L. W. Bedenbaugh had returned to Newberry the previous Wednes day after visiting with Mrs. Metzger for a few days. Funeral services were held at 4:00 p. m. Wednesday afternoon at the Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are one son, William Metzger and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Tyson, both of Savan nah; two grandchildren; two aunts, Mrs. Bedenbaugh and Mrs. J. E.
