Molded Pineapple Rice Cream

Pineapple and Strawberry Sauce Provides a Delightful Flavor
Pineai

lends such good
mixture makes the light, airv texture.
It is thriftier than most desserts, yet gives elaborate results and
is sure to win compliments. A delicious Pineapple-Strawberry Sauce
adds interesting color and flavor.
Pineapple Rice Cream
^ cup regular rice (raw) 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
XH cops milk H cup sugar
1 cup pineapple juice or 1 teaspoon vanilla
syrup H cup whipping cream
Pineapple-Strawberry Sauce
H cup augar
1 cup halved strawberries
1 tablespoon lemon juice,
freeh or frozen
1 No. 2 can pineapple

Few slivers orange rind
2 teaspoons cornstarch
Combine rice and milk, dash of salt. Cover and simmer without
stirring till tender and milk absorbed, about 25 minutes. Heat pine
apple juice. Soften gelatin in 2 tablespoons cold water, stir into hot
juice along with sugar, vanilla. Blend in rice. Chill till thickened.
Whip cream stiff, fold into rice. Chill firm in greased 4 to 5-cup
fluted mold or mixing bowl. x
Sauce; Drain juice from pineapple. Add orange rind and heat to
boiling. Blend sugar and cornstarch. Stir into boiling liquid, cook and
stir tul clear and thickened. Add pineapple, strawberries and lemon
juice. Ciiill. Unmold rice. Decorate with whole strawberries and pine
apple tidbits. Serve with Pineapple-Strawberry Sauce. Serves 6.
Variations: One tablespoon of Cointreau or Brandy may be sub
stituted for the lemon iuice called for in the sauce.

and staid Bennett Corf, Dorothy
KilgaUen and Arlene Francis
could definitely use a little madcap
humor to pep it up . . . Another
good possibility would be Jimmy
Edmondson who does not limit
his talents to spelling backwards
in his “Professor Backwards"
routine . . . Jimmy is a humorist
in his own right and would go
well with the others.
“The Swan" Is of Grace Kelly's
best pictures and gives a vivid
idea of how regal a princess the
lovely star makes . . . Arthur God
frey’s Wednesday night show, a
standby since the early days of TV,
has been cancelled Just a
few months ago Arthur insisted
“Disneyland" was not cutting into
his ratings—that he had the high
