KIBLER . . . affairs committee the standards of dentistry in this state were greatly improved. Dr. Kibler stated that his grandfather was the first post master of the town of Prosperity. At the time of Dr. Kibler’s birth on March 16, 1877, the town went under two names, Frog Level and Prosperity. Mail was received at the post office as Frog Level, and the Southern Railway, the only railroad at that time passing through that section called the place Prosperity. A$ the years passed the name Frog Level was dropped and the town has been called Prosperity since then. Dr. Kibler’s background is link ed with the history of Prosperity. His grandfather not only served as the first postmaster, Jbut his name is at the head of the list of charter members of Grace Luth eran Church. He recalls many in teresting events which have iden tified his family in the life of the community of around 160 years. Dr. Kibler has an affable man ner and a keen memoty. As a high school student he enjoyed playing baseball and was cap tain of his baseball team during his high school days. Dr. Kibler’s active practice is now carried on in his home where his main work is taking impressions for den tures. Legislature, auth orizing the Newberry County Park Commission to negotiate with the Newberry County Girl Scout Council for the use of a portion of Lynch Woods for a day camp site. Councilman Duffbrd, Paysinger and Layton were appointed by Miayor Kinard to act as a plan ning and budget committee. Council approved awarding a contract for the construction of a digester cover for the sewerage treatment plant, in an effort to eliminate odors, asrecommended by B. P. Barber and Associates. The contract went to Republic Construction Corporation, low bidder for $5551.58. Authority was granted to pur chase from Smith Motor Com pany, low bidder, a half ton pick up truck in the amount of $1,209.- 99 plus sales tax. THANKS !!
